Agree, good top ten guide, although actually haven't been to all of them

I wish I lived in the REAL London and not London, Ontario lol.

You could also try Les Senteurs. This place specialises in niche fragrances.

Default Scent Shopping in London and Brussels

I'm going to be in both cities next month and am looking for places to find niche or harder to find scents. I will go to Trumpers in London... so might stay in the Mayfair area. Any recommendations??

Look in the City Shopping Guides forum - under UK > London etc.
There are some very comprehensive maps, recommendations and detailed expositions on the best places to visit.

Agree with Dimitri. Thanks to pia, the London section and particularly the map is outstandingly useful. I use it every time I go.

Les Senteurs have NEVER answered a single email I sent them , I wouldnt waste your time TBH

I'm not sure how good Les Senteurs is at email correspondence, but definitely worth a visit if you are in London (near Victoria Station). And pretty generous with samples too - every time I've been in there has been no problem with getting them for free.

Am I doing something wrong? Every time I try to print it, it comes out sans perfumeries. I have several nice maps of London minus the shoppes. Great resource though!

Default Can any GUERLAIN exclusives be found in London?

If you know where I might be able to source some of the special Guerlains in London, please let me know here or by PM.
    Thanks!

Try this out Marble Arch House, 66-68 Seymour Street

    Thank you Johnmark2.

I see this is the Guerlain head office for London, correct? I might try and contact them with my query.
    Much appreciated

    Hi Dimitri,

I guess it depends on what you mean by exclusives, but I know for a fact that the Guerlain counter on the ground floor of Harrods stocks the city collection (New York, Moscow and Tokyo) as well as La Petite Robe Noire and Quand Vient La Pluie. They've also got something the name of which has totally slipped my mind: it was something like Extraordinary Nectar, or something along those lines. And, if you happen to have eight thousand pounds to spare, they've also got the UK's only bottle of the re-edition of the vintage Parfums De Champs-Elysees.

    Hope this helps.

Thank you persolaise! I hadnt thought of Harrods as stocking some of their exclusives. Yes, those are the types of scents Id like to sniff... the ones that arent readily available on the mainstream market.
My return trip to Australia will be via london where we will spend a few days.

    This has been very helpful.
    Thank you.

You're more than welcome. You need to make sure you head for the smaller, perfume-only Guerlain stand, which is near Boadicea The Victorious. The cosmetics stand also has fragrances, but no exclusives, as far as I'm aware.

If you'd like to see some of the classic Guerlains in the bee bottles, you'll need to head for Roja Dove's Haute Parfumerie on the top floor.

    Safe journeys :-)

Default Any exclusivity in London ?

Hi, my friend is going to London next week. He knows how crazy I am about scents and he is ready to buy something for me. What scent could he find in London that is not available in NYC ?

The only brand I can think of at the moment is Ormonde Jayne. Do you have other brands to suggest ? Thank you so much!

There's Santa Maria Novella at 117 Walton Street, London, Tel: UK 020 7460 6600 Not sure if you have these in NYC? Roja Dove is also worth a visit, they have their own brand as well as the likes of Xerjoff, Grossmith and other top end perfumes. http://harrods.urbanretreat.co.uk/de...spx?PageID=286

How about the Le Labo City Exclusive, Poivre 23?

I think you should include great perfumery in Liberty - off Regent Street, with impressing Frederic Malle, Le Labo, CdG and many other departments.

    Just realised you did.

Did you actually look at the map?

(It's been there from the beginning ).

Having said that, the customer service in Liberty's has been variable at best, so I wouldn't recommend it as a first choice for anyone...

    Hi see my edit

Agreed re Customer Service there - they seem to be a bit underschooled
Girl at Annick Goutal depo was actually surprised that someone may know perfume ingredients
There is a very cool gal on niche perfumery stand in Selfridges, that really listens to you and is able to keep the conversation at a decent level. Forgot her name though

I recently had a terrible service in Selfs and wouldnt go back there again ....

Liberty generally is very good , the lady on the Le Labo counter was very efficient but did find her very aloof and nonchalant , wasnt too sure if that was intentional tho !!!

Now that Les Senteurs has stopped carrying MPG, is there anywhere in London where I can get a try or buy Santal Noble?

    Thanks folks!

Les Senteurs in Belgravia is lovely shop and more down to earth than Roja Dove. Though that said they are extremely helpfull in Roja Dove.
There is a map on this site of all the perfume shops in and around London. It's really useful:

My brother is flying to London in 2 weeks, so there's a huge 'what-to-buy' list I'm preparing for him I'm especially interested in Coromandel... There were great news that Chanel Les Exclusifs are now available in 75 ml bottles - in the US Does anybody knows whether London got it already?
PS: Chanel' boutique and Selfridges are the only places that carry Les Exclusifs' line, right?
