    Default Guerlain Aqua Allegoria

Was told today that they are bringing two new ones out this year and discontinuing two, one of which is the Pamplelune. It's one of my favourite summer scents, so I guess a stock up maybe in order.

    Was this a reliable source?
The Pamplelune has been one of the best sold Guerlains from the start of the AA series.

I can't imagine Guerlain being that stupid! However

Can you please give more information before I indeed shall start hoarding one my most beloved scents.

Don't you just hate it when one you love is discontinued. I'm sure you will be able to find it online, though.

It was the lady at my local Guerlain counter who told me. So goodness knows how reliable she is. She said that she had 3 bottles left and was not getting any more.

I shall sneak past soon and see if they have restocked.

Sorry - didn't mean to alarm anyone!

    Cool Re: Guerlain Aqua Allegoria

I have not tried this particular scent, but this has happened to me, with scents that I love, and they either discontinue or tweak it (basically ruin it) when the scent is perfect they way it is, and loved by many. I've noticed this with many other fragrances. If discontinued, it will probably have the price jacked up big time, that's what they usually do with a popular scent that they discontinue*

    Glad I have a back-up bottle.

    RED ALERT

I am sorry to say that Quos seems to be quite right!!
I just phoned three shops carrying Guerlain and the Guerlain counter of the largest department store: It is going to be discontinued!

My orders for every bottle still in stock in Rotterdam and neighbouring cities are already out

Are there volunteers for a Posse against Guerlain??

Quos, my eternal gratitude for the warning!

Thank goodness! You know when you post something and then think - have I just made a major faux pas?

(or as I saw in an ad for a mobile phone recently - a fopas. Took me ages to work out what a fopas was)

Bet when discontinued it still appears on sites selling cheaper Guerlains.

Blimmin' heck - yet more support for my theory that Guerlain's decision-making team have been eaten and replaced by shape-mimicking aliens who don't have working noses. My understanding was also that it was the most popular AA - it's a really well-made perfume (unlike some in the AA series). Bother. I guess I'm going to end up buying several bottles to keep in reserve now.

Girl, you have a great sense of humor :bounce:

I hereby suggest to call the Guerlain management in future the 'Fopas'.

What a pity I did not know this when we were 'celebrating' our Guerlain Week.

My prediction: You'll find Pamplelune at discount until it becomes rare. Then, you'll hear about some "new" Guerlain, which will basically be an overhaul of Pamplelune in a new bottle with a price tag three times what you've paid for an AA.

Guerlain management may not always be nose-smart, but they look at their sales figures and strategize how to keep a market share for decades ahead.

I have never tried Pamplelune but just the mention of something being discontinued makes me practically manic to try it!

I smell in pampelune only pipi de chat.

I like Pamplelune in the summer...great after exercise scent.

I'm one of the lucky ones who has never met a parfum/EDP/EDT that has reminded me of cat urine, whore's hampers (I don't know any hookers), or anything so unsavory.

I find these descriptions so funny, but I just don't "get" the olfactory part of the joke.

Dear Zibeline, for me Pampelune smells REALLY cat urine, unfortunately, sigh!
    I don't joke, sorry.

Quos, you mentioned that two AAs were to be discontinued; any word on the second one?

My husband's had to go to Finland (hi Tigrushka!) for some meetings today, so he's been instructed to apply himself very seriously to the Guerlain counter at Heathrow and help me restock. Thank heavens for duty free.

I am really sorry - I was so shocked at the Pamplelune I forgot to ask about the second one!

    Exclamation Re: Guerlain Aqua Allegoria

    OH, NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Out of my 19 bottles of juice, AA Pamplelune is my #3! I can't believe it!

I mean, it has had an 8-yr. run, which is longer than any other AA frag.

    But still... It's pure genius.

Does anyone know if it's still on shelves at Sephora? My Sephora is an hour away, and I just checked Sephora.com, which says it is "temporarily out of stock".

Or, are there any other stores where it can be bought in the US- esp. Chicago?

I am always wary of buying online...

Yes, it has been gone for a while now. I like it sometimes, although a subtle scent it is not!

I think my favourite is Lavande Velours (of the ones I've tried), also gone now.

Pamplelune I got that unfortunate smell from =(
