    Default Bvlgari Fragrance Layering Challenge

    Hi ladies!
I have been driving myself bonkers with this for over a year now, and maybe one of you Bvlgari enthusiasts might be able to help me

A while back I worked in the fragrance industry, working with the BPI brands, and (amongst many others), Parfums Bvlgari.

When 'Omnia Crystalline' was launched, at the fragrance training, we were told 'Crystalline' was designed not only as a 'stand-alone' fragrance, but also as a scent which can be layered on top of the original "Omnia" to produce a THIRD Omnia scent. It always fascinated me that they had combined complementary notes so that this could be achieved, and it proved to be a great sales tool. Having worked with, and become familiar with these fragrances, I can understand how the two may complement and contrast one another effectively.

SO: is anyone here game enough to try layering the two for a day and report back their impressions here?

    Pretty please?

I'd love to, but I only have Omnia (which I love all on its own). If I can find the other one, I might go out wearing it, then spray some on top, but in my neck of the woods, these fragrances are hard to come by...

Nope, I can't stand Omnia Crystalline--or Omnia for that matter. I love Rose Essentielle, though. Love, love, love. Love.

Thanks Clemmie.. if you are wearing your Omnia and do happen to run into a lonesome bottle of Crystalline in a store - give it a few puffs and let me know how you fare!

    Cheers again!

Oh I will. I do consider this a challenge now. I've never layered different perfumes (deliberately!) before.

OK I tried it. I went sampling in Tunbridge Wells with my hubby, wearing no perfume of my own, and kept my right wrist clear for the experiment. Bulgari Omnia sprayed on first and allowed to dry a little. Then Crystalline right on top of it. For a while, I got the two separate perfumes, then they blended into something rather special -and it was a totally unique blending of the two, which was outstanding. I could smell them both, and the combination really did work - but sadly not for long. The Cyrstalline faded very quickly against the weight of the Omnia and that's all I had left. I always think of Omnia as my heaviest perfume. I actually think of it as the perfume equivalent of a suet pudding, it's so long-lasting and robust. I think it's a tad too robust to counteract the light floweriness of Crystalline (which by the way I hadn't tried before and I thought it was delightful on its own).

So there it is. The rank amateur tried her first layering experiment, and it was fun.
