I got a haircut recently. At a REAL barber. It was cool, and afterwards I was enveloped by the lovely smell of talcum. What scents smell the most like it?
"It's not what you look like when you're doing what you're doing; it's what you're doing when you're doing what you look like you're doing."
Helmut Lang Men!!! The anti-Cuiron.
Amouage's Gold Cologne.
Helmut Lang is just really minimalist, somewhat retro and VERY barbershop. Exactly what you're looking for.
Not all talcum powder smells the same of course.
The last time I was at the barber the talc used was very like Rive Gauche.
Chanel Pour Monsieur
Maybe Jockey Club.
Wondrous is our great blue ship that sails around the mighty sun and joy to everyone that rides along!
I've heard that lagerfeld classic was supposed to smell exactly like talc, I own it and I will say it does smell like that, more than any other frags I know of.
Prada for Men is the closest I've found...and Caron Pour Un Homme
Cologne Blanche by Dior (Hedi Slimane) - a quiet powder experience in a bottle.
Someone above already mentioned (and I second): Rive Gauche by YSL. Talcum with a lemon lifting its spirits.
Buy my extra scents - mainly niche - over 50 items (tiny bottles)
Monk by Mike Storer
Back on Basenotes after about a 6 year absence. Need to time to re-adjust
To me, Zizanie is the closest.
"She allowed subsequently to Cottard that she found me remarkably enthusiastic; he replied that I was too emotional, that I needed sedatives, and that I ought to take up knitting." --Proust, *Cities of the Plain*
Cabochard by Parfums Grès and the dry down of the original Aramis.
Ce message provient du Québec!
SMN's Muschio d'Oro. Soap and talcum powder.
I feel that Blu by Bulgari smells soap and talcum powder after the scent dries down a little.
I am surprised nobody has mentioned Canoe. To me that smells very much like talcum powder and barber shops.
Mainly because I'd bet the talc they used was Pinaud's Clubman talc. It's a standard feature of most barbershops I've ever been in. Nothing like the actual scent for smelling like the scent. Plus it's about $10 for 12.5 oz. of their aftershave/cologne.
Oh, Caswell-Massey's Jockey Club is pretty close to that, too.

i Profumi di Firenze Talco Delicato.
I know I said earlier that Helmut Lang Men smelled like talc to me, but I think it actually may've smelled more like chalk to me than talc. I'm going on pure memory from a few years back, so I may not be too accurate on that.
Trufitt and Hill 1805 and Kenneth Cole Black, which smell somewhat similar to my nose, are both heavy on powder. I'd take the 1805. Dunhill is somewhat powdery too. As is Endymion.
barbershop, but non-powder: Hugh Parson's (any), many Penhaligon's scents, Gendarme, Rive Gauche (love the destination, hate the journey)
Lately I've been wearing:
Windsor, Bois de Santal, Original Santal, Elixir, Douro, Endymion, Reflection, Arcus, Marwah
