I'm here fredricktoo! Was away for a game of golf. Great to see the thread is getting so many clever images posted. Awesome!

fredrick, I'm afraid I have no clue about your next pic but it appears that Indiscreet did a pretty good guess already. The grey rocks made me think of Gris Clair instead.

I love this, it brings both male and female boards together and beats reading "Please look at the 100 scents below and choose 10 for me" as seen recently on the male board.

Cool! I was actually going to guess Dzongkha even before following your hint to look at your wardrobe because I was reading the L'Artisan website yesterday and they had a slideshow about a journey to Bhutan for the inspiration of Dzongkha. It was really interesting, and what a coincidence!

I am just familiar with the Dayak tradition on Borneo. And a Lutens' addict

As far as I know there is still an obscure tribe on the Filippines that does an occasional headhunting

Update: just did check your wardrobe. Fredrick, will you marry me? "Love, honour and obey" would be very nice but I go for your Lutens' collection!

That Hoover was J.Edgar of the frilly nighties and living with another agent for a lifetime and taking erotic pics of him and denying the existance of a mafia in America.

Yes rich this is related. absolutely.

those arent bell jars of Lutens ladies, not even full bottles.

so apples were the staple diet of the American worker, who didn't and still doesnt know how to feed their pets, when Hoover threw the economy into a tailspin. What's French for Depression, which is what I was just coming out of till I saw this mess of clues?

I am here, my laissez faire capitalist soul studying up on Herbert Hoover's life and times.

okay, those apples are Red Delicious, aren't they? That brings me to DKNY's limited edition with that same name. But how to link Herbert Hoover to Donna Karan or New York?? Umm... DKNY Red Delicious Men? I'm pretty sure I'm over-simplifying here.

I say DKNY Red Delicious; "red" referring to HH working in China, too.

Lutefisk is also delicious, btw, served with a thick sauce béchamel and fried bacon
Swedes only have it for x-mas, the meatballs they/we usually have once a week.

OK. Every guess thus far has been wrong. fredericktoo, you're on the right track with Hoover, but it doesn't have to do with the FBI. You already said half of the name. If that isn't enough, the apple tree is in what family? Say it in the order I gave you the pictures to figure it out. I must be really sneaky, because I would have thought that you would have guessed it right off of the bat.

Welcome lannansidhe (do I smell a Gaelic connection here?)

Here we go with the explanation on the Klimt.

The painting is called "The kiss" so, "Le Baiser" in French.
The years written under the painting are all a "year of the Dragon" in Chinese astrology.
Et voila: Le Baiser du Dragon by Cartier

But....G, you are in the right direction with the harem.

Alright, I admit it is a difficult one so I will give some extra clues.
The picture of the stamp had originally the name of the fragrance on it

This is a scent for women created by a well-known fragrance designer for an almost completely unknown French niche brand (almost uber-niche). He created also Guerlains Rose Barbare and Giorgio Armani - Mania for men.
It is not in the Directory (yet) but at least the women's forum paid it a lot of attention.

Oh alright: it is in my wardrobe

Enlévement au Sérail is my guess as well.

The stamp is from a French stamp series on the Operas of Mozart and the painting is Jean-Dominique Ingres' Inside a Turkish Bath. Or perhaps a Seraglio. Then you gave us the clues on the designer and the final piece that it is in your wardrobe. Pointing right at Enlévement au Sérail.

Another nice one Riannon, I enjoyed tracking it down, and then ComDiva sweeps in and beats me to the I suspect, correct guess.

Thanks for the explanation. My two years of high school french got me the kiss and burning love of Klimt got me the kiss part, but I couldn't figure out the dragon.
Yes, Lannansidhe, of course is Gaelic, as is my family. My middle name is Gael, also.

Well, on the theory that my guess was right, I will ATTEMPT to add the next one in the series!

ComDiva and Riddle: both right on "Enlévement au Sérail".
ComDiva has the honor of being the first to guess right and clever Riddle gave the whole explanation of 'why'.

Good job, you will have to share the trophy

But maybe our ComDiva is not as innocent as she appears to be

Guerlains Parure is also a possibility.

Riannon, your second guess is correct!

To quote from Bois de Jasmin:
"Parure means a matching set of necklace and earrings. It was created by Jean-Paul Guerlain in 1975 for a woman—some argue that the woman in question was his mother--who loved jewelry but could not find a scent she liked. Thus, he created a scintillating necklace of fragrance to adorn her."

But I confess to choosing the image I did as a potential red herring! Riannon, you're up again... :bounce:

Well, dear R, thanks, but you made this one easy! Of course I would feel like trying my hand at it, but first I've got to understand how to upload images Think it'll take some time...

Erm...ok, did I learn the trick? Let's see:

So, you don't need that crash course after all. Wise Unicorn.

Hmmm....didn't want to tell the whole world this one was too easy for you to solve. Yes, it is Luctor et Emergo!
Satellite image of Zeeland; the relevant coat of arms shows a lion half submerged by water and the inscription "lucto et emergo".

Nice work, BUNI!! But now you have to solve mine.
It seems we are the only players at the moment.

Or shall we let it simmer for a while? After all, when you solve my Teaser, I will have to make yet another one.

First one that came to my mind was Stoned , but it would be based on your first image only!
Let it simmer for awhile waiting for the other players....grey cells at work in the meantime
