Default Looking for a new scent

    hello everybody

i am looking for a new scent. my current scent is acqua di gio, and i heard that it is much to common. maybe i should have something more individual. but i dont know many fragrances, so you gotta help me out.

    I am:
    - male
    - 23
    - i believe in nature and love
    - i am not really sporty, but i look sporty :-)
    - i'm intellectual, not a party-guy
    - i like to be serious in work/business and more easy-going in free time
    - i like to go deep into things and not stay on surface (relationship and stuff)

    any suggestions? need further info?

    thank you!!!

    Burberry London?
I think it's sexy and sophisticated. That's just my opinion, go stiff it out for yourself. Good Luck!

From the moment I was six I felt sexy. And let me tell you it was hell, sheer hell, waiting to do something about it.

What are some of your favorite smells in general (not just fragrance-wise)?

Do you like the smell after it rains? Or the smell of an open fire? Or the smell of freshly baked cookies? Do you prefer your dates to smell human/flowery/fruity?

You seem to have a sporty image, but not a sporty personality. Do you relish being perceived as sporty, or is that something you'd like to stay away from?

Do you have $$$ or $ for your new scent?

Well we are similar, so my current favorites at the moment:

    Jaipur Homme (warm and exotic)
Erolfa (one of the best aquatics, smells like the sea)
Mugler Cologne (Smells like light blue powdery soap, very fresh)
    Ungaro III

I would recommend getting samples before you buy because everyone is different.

My favourite smells...actually I never thought about that!

I like the smell of fresh baken bread! I also like the smell of rain, but I don't like the smell of open fire. I like it when girls have a taste of sweetness in their perfume. But I don't want a very sweet fragrance for myself, because I think this is girl's stuff.

I don't do much sports, but I look kind of sporty (good body, sporty clothing), and I also like to be active a lot!

    my fragrance should be:

    sensual and warm
    masculine
    individual
sophisticated, but not for old men
    not very fresh
    not like the sea
    not very sweet

i have medium money to spend on fragrance...

by the way: the most interesting and intesive smell i discovered was in Chinatown of Bangkok Thailand.....Absolutely amazing experience (for a European guy...)

I'm also hearing Jaipur Homme here. I'd give it a try. If you decide you like it, I say spring for the eau de parfum. It costs more, but it's actually superior to the eau de toilette and so strong that it'll last you a good long time.

    Other candidates:
Tuscany Uomo Forte (I wore this quite often at your age, and I too was something of an "intellectual".)
    Santal Noble
    Fou d'Absinthe
    Tam Dao
    Eau Lente
    Yerbamate
    Mechant Loup

These last six are more costly ($90 - $120 at full retail) but still worth trying, as inexpensive samples are easy to come by.

    Have fun choosing!

i tryed Jaipur Homme on my skin, it lasts very long and gives a warm feeling, but it is a liittle bit to feminine for me. some friends (male and female) also mentioned that it's nice, but a little bit to feminine
is there a fragrance like jaipur, but less sweet-feminine?

Gucci Envy. Similar to Jaipur but not as sweet on me.

I know that these are classics but I personally find them timeless classics. I know a lot of younger guys who use these

    - Polo (Green) by Ralph Lauren This fragrance was to the late 70's and 80's what acqua di gio is to today's market, overly popular. It has a really great forest scent to it, it last well and now that everyone is no longer wearing it, it is somewhat personal.

    - Yatagan by Caron I personally find this a more masculine version of the Polo. It was never as popular as Polo Green but well worth checking out.

If you are not into the Outdoor sent of Polo and Yatagan, and also want something more recently introduced, you may enjoy:

    - Vera Wang for Men. I got this because my Girlfriend loves it. If you read its reviews on Basenotes there are many that complain that it has very little longevity. Personally I find that it lasts reasonably well. I've had it on today for about 7 hours and still smell it.

    - Kiss Him by KISS An unexpectedly good and modern fragrance from the 70's rock group. As an added bonus it has pheromones in it to help attract the ladies.

All of these fragrances are very versatile in that they can be worn for a number of different occasions and you can get away wearing them year around. Best of all you can pick all of them up at a modes price on line and/or at discount shops. But even beyond these purely practical reason, I really like all of them.

You might try a sample of 'Hierbas di Ibizia' from Aedes. It's light and fresh perfect for anytime, especially spring and summer. I think it's much more interestiing than Gio. A woody /incense to try that is great for warm weather is Heeley; 'Cardinal' also at Aedes. I also think you can't go wrong with Polo Green Classic. A mellow spice/greens mix.

Ok, thanks guys for your help!

This week I will go to a parfumery and check out the following:

    Envy For Men - Guccy
    Eau Lente - Diptyque
    Philosykos - Diptyque
    Passage d'Enfer - L'artisan Parfumeur
L'air du desert marocaine - Tauer

I have read the reviews of these fragrances, and they all sound very special.
