Although it is labeled as a feminine fragrance, Dior's Hypnotic Poison has a very addictive bitter almond note over vanilla that, IMHO, works well on a man. Well, at least this man. It's easily found in Sephora and major department stores. I find it similiar to Jaipur.

Jour de Fete by L'Artisan is a great almondy scent. It is easy to find on L'Artisan's website. Beautiful fragrance.

interesting. the last place that i would look for an almond scent is from the dior women's....a stereotypical image or scent of an old woman is stuck in my head when i think of dior...except miss dior cherie

I agree 100%. Another wonderful fragrance by the lovely Olivia Giacobetti.

Many people say it has poor lasting power, but i must be one of the lucky ones. Although it is subtle, it lasts all day on me.

This one is a must try if you love almond. Also, its totally unisex IMHO.

Another good one to try is Cologne Blanche by Dior.

I second strongly Jour de Fete, which is pleasantly un-sweetish for an almond fragrance.
If you like a more gourmand almond, try Alessandro by Mazzolari.
I think, Luckyscent carries these fragrances and offers samples.

BODY KOUROS by YSL... its has a mazipan / almond-bread softness to it.
And if theres a special woman in your life that you'd love to enjoy it on, try Paul and Joe's "Blanc" EDP. Its the female equivalent and almond features heavily in the top and heart notes.

The former is very easy to obtain... the latter may require some hunting.

I agree with Scentonic: Acqua di Parma Mandorlo di Sicilia (very nice almond, even for the summer)

I would like to second Ruggles suggestion of Dior Hypnotic Poison. I have wanted to love this perfume for ages but always find myself disappointed when I wear it... why?

Even though I can and do enjoy wearing many scents marketed to / for men, Hypnotic Poison always smells like I am wearing the remnants of some sexy man's cologne when I wear it. (See my review in the directory). Cute on some maybe, but not my style, at least not enough to buy a bottle. The bitter Almond, caraway and vanilla woods in this are similar in feel /texture to YSL Body Kouros, Givenchy Pi, JPG Le Male when dried down.

I even mock up my own Hypnotic Poison 'dupe' by mixing Boucheron Trouble with Body Kouros.... for when my Hypnotic Poison boozy almond craving kicks in and even Cacharel Gloria won't do.
    Favourite (Winter) Crazy Combos

Tabu + Orange Blossom * Hermes Rouge + Bellodgia* Voleur du Roses+ Rose Ispahan * Rasa Extreme + Paris * Wood Coffee + Cafe Noir *

Moondeva, I see the connection of HP to Body Kouros - But, I do not like BK, Pi or LM. They're just too sweet and wet for me. To me, the almond note in HP makes for a very opaque and much drier fragrance. I also get that "boozy almond craving" from time to time!

Ruggles - we are definitely singing from the same song sheet!

I to find Le Male & Pi too darn candied sweet and cloying but their dry downs definitely fit into the same 'manly sweet woods' category that Body Kouros & Obsession for Men belong to. But as you say there is an extra 'dryness' to the sweet woody base of Body Kouros which echoes that of Hypnotic Poison.

I find it odd when I get those cravings, especially as I am not inclined towards sweet, or gourmandy scents in general. But come the cooler weather of autumn, when the leaves turn brown and begin to fall through the air crisp with the ghost of ice in winter that is soon to come... and the craving kicks in. Boozy almonds, boozy woods, mulled dark spiced fruits and rich honey are all delicious scent 'flavours' I cannot resist!

Chiaja by E. Marinella is quite almondy scent with tonka beans and musk - but it`s easy to find in Italy, not in other countries..

One more vote for Jour de Fete. In my opinion it's rather on the feminine side, yet a man can wear it without feeling uncomfortable.

Kenzo's Time for peace has an hazelnut note, and it's quite smooth, unlike Pi's bitter almond note, which is somewhat heavy.

I buy all my Etro's from Amazon. They are all around $52, and they qualify for free "super saver" shipping. Go to health and beauty and type in Etro Heliotrope.

I get a really nutty feeling from the drydown of Loewe Solo. While it's not easy to find, it should be more available than Acqua di Parma Mandorlo di Sicilia.
