I now wear Polo Blue and would like to add another fresh, clean scent to my collection. I'm looking for something that can be described as:
masculine, and clean
I used to own M7 but had to toss it out because I thought the scent was just too bold for my personality. So anything moving in a M7-direction would nice.
Any help is appreciated.
As a side note: This ( http://a1468.g.akamai.net/f/1468/580.../26289/300.jpg ) inspired me to ditch the aquatic/sweeter scents and go for something more masculine. I think I've grown into it. I receive so many compliments with this stuff. Ha! Now if I can only find something a bit more refined and lasting.
Declaration Bois Bleu
Terre D'Hermes (not so much musky)
D&G light blue pour homme
Green Valley (Creed)
Mark Birley for Men
I know, I know everybody got this one, but is a fresh, clean masculine scent Acqua di Gio (Armani)...and ist last very good
Bvlgari Extreme is much recommended, as well as Armani He as it's clean and modern.
Current Top 5
1. Creed Aventus
2. A*Men Pure Malt
3. L'instant Extreme
4. Nasomatto Duro
5. CDG - Kyoto
The following from Lancome are clean and masculine. Not favored by many which I consider a big plus:
For the price of both you almost get the French Lover or Vetiver Extraordinaire from Editions Malle. Both are deliciously clean and straight forward (but with finesse) ! More expensive but romantic ? Bois du Portugal!

'Il mondo dei profumi č un universo senza limiti: una fraganza puo rievocare sensazioni, luoghi, persone o ancora condurre in uno spazio di nuove dimensioni emozionali' L. V.
Wow! Thanks to all for the recommendations.
What about Live Jazz YSL and Paco Rabanne XS ?
"Wow, I've never smelled anything like that before."
Try Ferragamo's Subtil--it might fit the bill!
Etro Vetiver. Clean, masculine and slightly musky.
If M7 was good but too much, have you had an opportunity to try M7 Fresh?
On the designer side, there's always Geir by Geir Ness. It's very wearble, widely liked, but not overused.
On the niche side, there's Creed's Silver Mountain Water, but some people have longevity issues with this one. Parfums d'Empire's Iskander may have everything you're looking for, and you might enjoy Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier's Garrigue and Sanguine Muskissime as well. Finally, there's L'Artisan Parfumeur's classic Mure et Musc - light, clean, easy wearing and with a very nice musk note.
Enjoy your search!

Another vote for Allure Sport (silver bottle) for Men
The search for the perfect cologne is like a composer searching for the ultimate note.
P.S. F' Imus...Stern is King!
You might want to try out Lanvin's Vetyver (2003) and/or Emporio Armani White He.
I will second Live Jazz for the summer especially. An amazing understated designer fragrance. It's inexpensive too - give it a try.
I am wearing M7 Fresh today. If you are in a humid hot climate I would not suggest it - but dry and hot and it can work very nicely. M7 is great as well, but of course it's better suited for nighttime and cooler weather.
Nautica Voyage is a nice clean, fresh, and masculine scent.
Some say it is not unique. . .but I have not smelled anything quite like it.
When it is hot I like something that smells icy cool. . .Nautica Voyage is good for this.
I have tried and owned many fresh and aquatic scents but have not found much that I like
Owned or tried these in the same vein:
Azzaro Chrome (a bit flowery), Bvlgari Aqua, Davidoff Cool water, Acqua di Giň, Guess, Lacoste, Polo Blue, Blue Jeans, Versace Man Eau Fraîche, Zirh Corduroy
prefer the Voyage by Nautica . . .I mostly wear Dolce & Gabbana Pour Homme. . .I also like Burberry Touch and Burberry London. . .I just dont wear those three when its hot.
Guerlain Vetiver has gotten a lot of votes, and it gets mine too.
Another clean scent, but not typically masculine is Soda from Comme des Garcons Synthetic serie. It doesn't get much cleaner than this...
Arte et labore
Next time you're going to "toss something out" like M7, PLEASE PM ME FIRST!
Hugh Parson's Traditional. Done and Done.
Lately I've been wearing:
Windsor, Bois de Santal, Original Santal, Elixir, Douro, Endymion, Reflection, Arcus, Marwah
Make that two votes for Hugh Parson's Traditional. Classy...the cleanest of the clean.
Creed's Original Vetiver!
"We are fast approaching the stage of the ultimate inversion: the stage where the government is free to do anything it pleases, while the citizens may act only by permission; which is the stage of the darkest periods of human history, the stage of rule by brute force." Ayn Rand...
"The essence of fascism is to make laws forbidding everything and then enforce them selectively against your enemies."
Terre d'Hermes and Bois Classic 1920 which is expensive, but IMHO a wonderfully fresh and elegant cologne.
I guess you might like YSL Jazz (the original one).
I'm actually planning to buy it myself.
