Terre d' Hermes.
Thread: What is your Number 1 ?
What is the most favorite scent of yours ?
Terre d' Hermes.
Bulgari PH Extreme
"Society honors its living conformists and its dead troublemakers."
OPIUM homme eau de parfum Yves St Laurent
Its a tie between Czech & Speake No. 88 and Vetiver Extraordinaire.
Millésime Imperial (Creed) ...for now...it can change often :-)
Montale-Black Aoud....for now.
A*Men by Thierry Mugler, I get so many compliments that I feel like a million bucks.
Tie between Dunhill EDITION and Creed's Baie de Genievre
Another vote for Thierry Mugler's Angel Men (A*Men for all of you not living in the USA or Canada).
Celebrating 10 years on Basenotes - and smelling better than ever
My mission statement: "I am not afraid to keep on living - I am not afraid to walk this world alone."
Best I can do is divide between a warm weather favorite
Tie: Terre d'Hermes and Rochas Lui
and cool weather favorite
Heritage EDT and EDP
Gotta be YSL Rive Gauche PH
Cacharel pour L'Homme. Easily.
You are not your perfume.
It's between Black Aoud and Terre D' Hermes
A three-way tie between Bvlgari Black, Mugler Cologne, & Musc Ravageur.
(My 3000th post, woot!)
"Wait...is David Bowie really God?" - Penelope Garcia
Dolce and Gabbana Pour Homme
Caron's Narcisse Noir is my outstanding and unchanging favourite.
Chergui (Serge Lutens), with all its faults and beauties.
I can't decide between Bulgari Aqva or Bvlgari PH Extreme.
Angel ... and it has been for the last 14 years.
I've trademarked the color bleu
It's gotta be Aqua Di Gio !!
j/k ... for now, i'm gonna say Relax by Davidoff or Dior Homme by Christian Dior even though they are absolutely nothing alike.
Terre d' Hermes, Armand Basi Homme, BVL Aqva are a hit to me.......... and im in love with the new Dunhill Pursuit... if i decide with just one mm,... Terre is a god !
Chanel Pour Monsieur, but I am growing ever increasingly fond of C&S 88.
I can truly say that whatever I choose to wear on a daily basis is my favorite. I love to smell the fragrances in my wardrobe; so much so that whatever I am wearing is my favorite! Sound like I'm running for office don't I?!
Number one remains the same as before I found basenotes
although the gap since basenotes has gotten smaller between #1 and #2 Avignon

Montale - Black Aoud without a doubt in my mind .
I would die without my Sequoia.
"Why not seize the pleasure at once?"
-- Jane Austen (Sun, and Mercury in Sagittarius)
A very difficult decision to make as there is such a fine line between several. I will go with Opium pour Homme.
And congrats to CologneJunkie on 3000 posts!
I'm a total noob here but I'll put in my 2 cents.
#1 so far: Bvlgari PH Extreme, quite subtle and classy, although I can understand those who want something more unique and with more projection. Still, I seem to reach for it more than anything else so far from my limited collection. Mostly for the office, but also on the weekends when nothing else will do.
I've recently ordered many samples, some in hand that may become my new #1 (bvlgari black or armani code come to mind), and some yet to arrive that I'm really looking forward to sampling (tea for two and L'Air du Desert Marocain in particular).

I am a veritable infant in terms of experience with fragrances, but if you were to take away all of mine except one, then that one would be Terre d'Hermes.
Currently it is Antaeus. Even with the powered down formula as it is still a great scent.
"...but I also can't prove that mushrooms could not be intergalactic spaceships spying on us." Daniel C. Dennett
1.Heritage 2. Antaeus3.Kouros 4. Drakkar Noir 5. Montana PDH
My favorite is Bois du Portugal - with Tea for Two and Musc Ravageur nipping at its heels.
Le 3e Homme de Caron - just, with about 5 or 6 others getting really jealous. I love how much it transforms from top to bottom and the drydown is quite lovely.
L'Artisan - Tea for Two
EnvYuS My Wardrobe
Probably Kenzo Pour Homme. Probably.
Top 3: London Gentleman, Blackbeard's Delight, and Sex Panther. (It works 60% of the time, every time.)
Changes often, but Musc Ravageur, Dia, and Idole de Lubin are probably the top contenders right now.
As many do here at Basenotes I have a hard time nailing one down.......so here goes my best attempt.
1. Cuir Amethyste, Eau de Soie, Pierre de Lune...... Armani Prive Line
2. Antidote by Viktor and Rolf
3. Purple Label by RL
4. Gio Pour Homme and Code Pour Homme
5. Polo Double Black and Polo Black
6. The Acqua di Parma Line and Blue Med. Line
7. Terre D'Hermes, Un Jardin Sur Le Nil, Un Jardin En Mediterranee, eau des merveilles
8. From the Different Company......Bois D'Iris and Osmanthus......I want to try the Vetiver.
Plus......Fragrances form....Cartier, Bvlgari and Many many more. I will say this....As my number one Niche fragrance......I have to go with Histoires des Parfums 1828.....Plus many from the house of Creed......Bond No. 9 and Etro and Aqua Motu from CSP.......I'm sorry.....I've named 100 and I'm just started......Gary
Currently Bulgari PH.
Current Top 5
1. Creed Aventus
2. A*Men Pure Malt
3. L'instant Extreme
4. Nasomatto Duro
5. CDG - Kyoto
Oud Sulaiman LTD
Creed Cuir de Russie
Klanilla de Fasolia
My top favorite may really be among those I am still craving and saving for.
From the ones I can lay my hands on it must be one of the Montale masterpieces made of oudhs and roses!
All contain a different oudh and another rose. I can never make up my mind between four of them.
If I chose one only I would immediately miss the other three.
(of course I am curious, Oud Man: Oud Sulaiman Limited ?)
They issued a Lavender and an Iris in addition.

'Il mondo dei profumi č un universo senza limiti: una fraganza puo rievocare sensazioni, luoghi, persone o ancora condurre in uno spazio di nuove dimensioni emozionali' L. V.
Caron Yatagan, with Givenchy Gentleman close behind.
For our relentless heat I have been loving Tangerine Vert by Miller Harris and GAP Blue, as it was a gift.
I listed my favourite as Narcisse Noir, and indeed it is, but I don't wear it that often. There are so many other beloved fragrances, including the ones still in the sampling stage, that wearing my number one choice regularly is a bit difficult. And of course one is always on the trail of new experiences. My recent discovery of the Montales has catapulted Black Aoud, Aoud Damascus, and Aoud Rose Petals to the top of my list. And today I'm finally feeling the love for Creed's great beauty, Angelique Encens. I cannot imagine why I didn't fall in love with it at first sniff. Such is the mystery and fascination of perfume.
Wearing my true favourite only once in a while makes it all the more special.
Although I've doubled my collection since last summer (thanks to BN!), M7 is my unequivocal number one. There's just something about it that makes me go AHHHHH! Second places go to Gucci pour Homme, Bugari pour Homme Extreme and Gucci Envy.
For swap/sale: NIB: Pure Malt, Floris Vetiver, Vintage Tiffany, Duc de Vervins, Charriol Royal Leather, Dior Homme, Bentley Intense; Dior Homme Intense, Chanel PMC, M7 gel, Roma (women's), LIDGE, Spicebomb, Trussardi Uomo, Obsession, others...
This is like trying to nail smoke to the wall - almost impossible!
For an all round day/night/winter/summer standby, I'd have to say Kouros.
For special occasions, and/or when I really just want to be completely selfish and treat myself, Creed BDP is THE KING.
D&G PH everyone asks me on this one!!
Silver goes to KIELS MUSK

"Wow, I've never smelled anything like that before."
Antaeus is my #1 go-to scent. I'm in trouble if I ever grow tired of it, I have enough for the next few decades.
A very close second is New West, and not just for the nostalgia of it all.
Minotaure - Paloma Picasso
I simply refuse to indulge in this torturous endeavor. I love all my babies equally! ;-)
De gustibus non est disputandum
