Just about anything remains available, for a price! If, however, you mean "still available" to mean "still being produced today," then in my opinion the list is fairly short. Incidentally, it is not too likely that great, still available scents with history include many - or any - "hidden treasures."

My nominations for "existing scents with history; still wearable in this century..." include

    Guerlain Vetiver
    Guerlain Habit Rouge
    Guerlain Heritage
    Chanel Pour Monsieur
    Chanel Antaeus
    Chanel Egoiste
    Caron Pour un Homme
    Le 3e Homme de Caron
    Acqua di Parma Colonia
    Christian Dior Eau Sauvage
    Zino Davidoff
    Sung Homme
    Paco Rabanne Pour Homme
    YSL Jazz
    Hermes Equipage
    Nina Ricci Signoricci
    Trussardi Uomo
    Creed Vintage Tabarome

If, however, you mean "still available" to incude discontinued scents and/or "hidden treasures", then I would add

    Spazio Krizia Uomo
    Romeo Gigli per Uomo
    Monsieur Rochas
    Monsieur Carven
    Aramis Tuscany per Uomo Forte
    Nina Ricci Phileas
    Patou Pour Homme

Again, if you mean "available," as opposed to "in production," I'd nominate Habanita, JHL, and Yatagan, though I hardly associate Yatagan's marvelous savagery with "class."

Any list of "Classics with Class" isn't complete without the inclusion of Edmond Roudnitska's 1951 masterpiece Eau d'Hermès.

I have to agree with virtually all of the scents listed above, and throw in Monsieur Givenchy while I'm at it.

Not avant garde: classy; not provacative: classy; not "obvious": classy and discreet.

As always, disregard most of what I say. It's not worth your heart health to actually worry about what a 23 year old guy from Kansas thinks. Even if he is really ridiculously good looking.

What about Aramis ( at osmoz )

Did win Fragrance Foundation Germany Awards in 2002, 2004 & 2005 and is in the Hall of Fame 2006 ( here ).

It´s interesting that aramis is ( at osmoz ) in the same ( woody-cypre ) category like chanel antaeus and kiton men.

Aramis (1965) is older than me but i could not test it untill now.

Go and try it! It's rather dark wood here and has too little finesse for a (European) snob ! I think it's as classic as a Western movie below the High Noon level. I would rather second Old Spice as the better American classic. (I haven't read the whole thread, and hope somebody has mentioned it.)

    Older classics:

    Antaeus
    Egoiste
Van Cleef & Arpels pour homme
    Ungaro III ( Original formulation)

From the newer generation (huge potential to become classics):

    Terre D'hermes
