Default Creed Royal Blends: What's yours?

    "Royal Blend" = RW + MI $(SMW)
"Enigmatic Blend" = New Tab + MI $(RW)
"The Smart Blend" = Fluerissimo + GIT
"Crystal Blend" = RW + Bois de Cedrat $(MI)
"Oceanic Breeze" = Erolfa + Neroli Sauvage
"Elixer of Youth" = Orange Spice + RW + MI
"Sensual Water" = Chevrefeuille + MI
"Blend of Seduction" = Acier Aluminum + Neroli Sauvage + ZMP
"Majestical Water" = MI + BdP
"Sunshine Blend" = Spring Flower + SMW
"Divine Blend" = Fantasia de Fleurs + Fleurissimo
"Blend of Love" = SF + MI
"Innocent Blend" = SF + MI + SMW
"Noble Blend" = Vintage Tab + Citrus Bigarade
"Scent of Style" = RW + SF $(MI)
"Magical Scent" = GIT + SMW + ZMP
"Cocktail of Passion" = Erolfa + BdP
"Capture by Desire" = New Tab + MI + Green Valley
"The Love Affair Blend" = FdF + Tuberose Indiana + MI
"Secret of Immortality" = BdP + Selection Verte
"The Blend of Success" = GV + GIT + Vintage Tab
"Blend of Magnetic Forces" = ZMP + NS + RW

A $ means that this perfume is optional. (Example: MI + GIT $(SMW) Means (MI and GIT), OR (MI, GIT, and SMW)) This list does not list the proper proportions.

This is a list of the "Creed Royal Blends". These are blends recognized by Creed as excellent or above satisfactory. For those of you who don't know, Creed encourages the mixing of their perfumes, because with the infusion technique Creed uses, it is very simple for one to mix their own perfumes using Creed's as the ingredients. The Creed Master Blender comes to KC twice a year, and he will mix the Creeds in anyway you want, and knows the proper proportions for the above blends. He travels around the US, and will give a certain number of private appointments per establishment.

The question I have is, "What is your blend?". It can be from the above list, or can be one you make up yourself. To make this thread more interesting, everyone list their own blend.

Mine is 5/8's Virgin Island Water + 3/8's Millesime Imperial. I call it Imperial Island Water.

As always, disregard most of what I say. It's not worth your heart health to actually worry about what a 23 year old guy from Kansas thinks. Even if he is really ridiculously good looking.

You're not going to hear me speak in any negative regard about Creed very often, but I think this whole blending thing is simply an attempt to get you to buy more. The guy comes around, the sales reps set up appointments beforehand, and then you meet with the guy and he suggests one or more mixes for you to wear. Now, I have 13 full-size bottles of Creed... Over $2000 worth...and I only have the scents to accommodate 3 or 4 of these "Royal" mixes. Gee, lets see...what a WONDERFUL opportunity for the sales rep to sell you another bottle!

I think these creations stand just fine alone how they are. I'm not opposed to wearing a couple at a time - I'll throw a dab of Zesty Mandarine on as a refresher over something heavier I'm wearing once in a while, but the whole appointment thing is just thinly disguised marketing, as far as I'm concerned. All they'd really need is to hand you that list, not have an appointment at the store with a "specialist" and all. Talk about a high-pressure sales presentation. I'll pass.
    Lately I've been wearing:
Windsor, Bois de Santal, Original Santal, Elixir, Douro, Endymion, Reflection, Arcus, Marwah

_R$_ calls it "the Cocktail of Passion", but I call it "The Hemingway". I find that Erolfas salty sea accord, and BdP's sophistication reminds me of the author; of his prowess and love for the sea. A definite favorite.

I wear Erolfa + Neroli Sauvage quite often, I really like the two together.
So I guess it's "Oceanic Breeze" for me

I notice that I still don't have enough of these individual selections to create many blends, but that's just fine with me. I admit, though, that I chose my first few Creeds on the basis of all this blending talk. I remember hearing about the popular MI + SMW combo, until I surprisingly realized that I liked SMW by itself, and even liked SMW better altogether. I used to feel that MI softened/brightened Green Valley nicely, but now I like GV by itself as well.

Adding to Scentronic's comments about hard-sell sales tactics for blending, the local Creed SA started babbling on about the appointment-only blending event. She said that, for example, if I wanted the rep. to blend me a dupe of Feuille Verte, that that could be done at the event. Now, while I'm hardly a Creed expert, I can say for a fact that the extraordinary quality of FV's lime, jasmine absolute and forest-like oakmoss is not present in most of the company's other fragrances to even blend from. So, WHY do these SAs get so desperate and make such ludicrous claims? The silly SAs, and prospective cost of the Creed atomizers/extra bottles involved, were enough to make me re-think the necessity of blending, although I'm sure that many of the above mixes smell wonderful.

I agree; the quality of the moss, jasmine and lime notes in Feuille Verte is superb. Perhaps Virgin Island Water comes closest to replicating the lime notes; I dont know of anyother Creed with as much oakmoss as FV. I havent tried enough womens Creed fragrances to compare jasmine notes with.

I wear a custom blend of 60AE/40FDTHE. No, I do not own a bottle of each. Creed will blend it for you. Another blend I love is 35FDB/65FDTHE

I've never thought of a name for the first combo......perhaps "Angelic Blend". The second one should definitely be "Divine Rose".

In general I'm not a big fan of messing with the perfumer's creations and "mixing" fragrances. And usually I find that when you mix two scents, the sum is less than the parts. Kind of like how with sound waves, phase cancellation occurs.

However I did try Rich's recipe of 5/8 VIW and 3/8 MI and it was pretty good. I still think that scents "resonate" better on their own as the perfumer had intended them. I tried mixing new Tab and MI together (50/50 because I didn't know the ratio) and it wasn't very good. It smelled like flat ginger ale. I will probably try some of the other suggested blends.

This isn't a creed combo exactly but one time I accidentally mixed vetiver extraordinaire with Royal English Leather and what resulted was the only fragrance I would feel content calling my signature fragrance.

The blends I wrote about are not my own creation but Creeds. I'm not saying you "can't" come up with your own layering combos....just wanted to clarify.
Does anyone know if Creed suggests a layering combination using Irisia? If so, I'd love to here it.

Question Re: Creed Royal Blends: What's yours?

This is a really interesting topic, unfortunately your abbreviations with the initials of the perfumes are quite incomprehensible.

I know most of you are used to Creed, but others (as me) are not. I hope that noboby will answer that basenotes is a limited place stricly for huge Creed wearers!

Actually, I DO have one blend I've liked so far. It's a vial made up by my NM SA of Fleur de the Rose Bulgare + Vintage Tabarome. The problem with this one is that it's so rich and formal (not to mention a bit potent), I haven't yet figured out enough occasions it's suitable for to justify the price of TWO full Private Collection flacons.

Pardon me for being the newbie, but do you blend the juice together, or do you just layer on the body? I'm quite at a loss as to how you can achieve a 5/8 + 3/8 mixture either way though.
Can get (mostly mass market) miniatures on the cheap, inquire within. Will ship worldwide at cost.

Not at all, but Creed has a lot of fans here, the same as many other designers and niche perfumers do. Variety is the spice of life, after all...

I own 14 Creeds and can only make 2 of these blends. LOL

Anyone have proper mixing-ratio information on these?

    Wholeheartedly agree.

Of those listed, I do like a weak mix (9parts Sv, 1part Bdp) of "Secret of Immortality", it really fills out Selection Verte to mix in a bit of Bdp.

But of those I wear really often...
6 parts Windsor And 2 parts MI.
5 parts Windsor to 3 parts Aventus
    1/2 & 1/2 Erolfa and MI
1/2 & 1/2 Mi and Scent of Oger
    1/4 VIW and 3/4 Aventus

And one that becomes very mature and unique:

6 parts Aventus to 2 parts Feuille Verte

The reason this one becomes such an interesting "classic/old" scent, is that the brownish oakmoss in Feuille Verte registers uptop, whereas the synthetic green oakmoss in Aventus is in the base. So when mixed, it becomes a big time traditional floral chypre with only slight fruit and plenty of lasting, dense floral presence.
The only Creeds I feel don't mix well at all are GIT and SMW...both if them become rotten floral messes when mixed with anything other than wood soliflores.

Does anyone feel that simply layering by spray method produces the same smell/results as literally mixing the fragrances. Do you feel that mixing marries the fragrances better?
Is the juice worth the squeeze?

Do you layer these on or mix them in an atomizer?
I have flacons of all the Creeds you listed except Erolfa & Feuille Verte.

Has anyone tried blends involving RO or REL? These were scarcely mentioned. I enjoy GIT plus GV quite a bit. Gonna try Aventus plus MI tomorrow in this heat....
