Default Olive or Olive Leaf Based Fragrances

I've been using an age fitness cream that contains Pure Olive Leaf concentrate. I really enjoy how it smells so I decided to find if there's any olive based scents out there. I did a quick directory search by typing in olive as a note but nothing came up in the search.

Can anyone recommend a good olive or olive leaf based scent?

    Thank You!

If I'm not mistaken, Eau d'Italie's Sienne L'Hiver features a strong olive note. It's quite the oddball scent, but well worth trying.

I have to increase font size because the first time I looked I thought it said "olive loaf".

    anyway

La Compagnie de Provence, savon de marseille, Extrait d'olive,
La Compagnie de Provence, LCDP, offers a wide range of high quality liquid soaps, soap bars, body lotions, creams among which the Olive extract line...

my search turned up tons of soaps. Not much on edt's or perfumes

I had the exact same question, about an olive note in fragrances, pop into my head a while ago. I forgot to post on Basenotes about it...

Although, I must say, I detest Armani Code (hmm...). The closest scent in my wardrobe that has led me down that Mediterranean, briney path is = Paprika Brasil by Hermes. But it's mostly wet pimentos. Not necessarily that heady, deep olive smell.

I also loved Sienne L'Hiver - but found it resembled 'pickles' - not olives. No kidding. So does Dzonghka, to my nose.

Here are a bunch of products with olive or olive leaf in them:

I also find there is a very distinctive olive note in Givenchy Pour Homme.

    scentemental

Just wanted to say Thank You to those who took out the time and effort to help me, very much appreciated. I'll definitely look into those web links that were posted, actually I've already done so, and I might pick something up.

Again, I was looking mostly for a fragrance that had an olive based theme or dominant note.

    Thanks!

Very interesting question! I love olives of many types, and generally relate perfume to food. I'm more partial to the darker olives.

I don't know what the olive leaf smells like, but I can think of several scents that remind me of various olives. And no doubt some will think I'm nuts.

The great Fumerie Turque, along with its many other great qualities, reminds me of the huge barrels of olives in my favorite Middle Eastern food store. Meditteraneum does a similar thing, in a simpler and less sophisticated manner.

My oddest selection for this group may be Capucci R, which is a favorite of several people on BN, but didn't get me quite as excited. I was scratching my head when I first got it, and suddenly it hit me... very green olives.

And I'll have to agree with Mike... Armani generally leaves me cold. Code and Mania just do nothing for me, although I could wear Attitude.

    Cheers, Dave

I've always found that Garage by Comme des Garçons has a green olive smell.

I know supermarky - I love the smell of that Cucina brand hand cream too (the one that scentemental linked to above...) and yet oddly that same creamy olive note I've never quite encountered in a fragrance.

I'm more interested in that Mediterranean olive oil smell...oily, very vegetal.

I'll be sniffing all of the above recommendations, to see if any of these fit the bill.

BTW Indieguy, I think Garage is fun, but no olive notes in it, for me.

According to Ayala's review, Cognac by Aftelier suggests olives.

YES! There is a fragrance called Olive Leaf by The Thymes and it is a great great scent! Its rather inexpensive, like $25 and if you have a C.O. Bigelow near you, it can be found there. Otherwise, www.thethymes.com. Its a very cool, zesty fougere. Definitely worth a shot!

When I was at Saks Saturday, I strolled over to the Laura Mercier counter and sniffed a few of her scents (I didn't know she did scents...but then, what cosmetic company doesn't?these days, huh?) Her scent Ambre Passion smells just like olives. It is not listed as any of the notes, but it must be the amber/floral combo that gives it the olfactory impression of a oily, wet, salty olive. Tip!

Fresh's Tabacco Flower has an olive note--it is a really great fragrance for anyone who hasn't tried it yet.

Nothing extraordinary, but just to name, also the new Gucci man II has an olive note in it (probably the only really interesting note in this scent); give it a try

Just noting that Osmanthus is also referred to as sweet olive and not at all the note you are looking for.
