Default Well it's new scent season...a few first impressions

There were a lot of new scents out when I went to the West End today.

I tried SJP's Covet for the S'n'S - a zingy green, slightly medicinal (to my nose) scent with a very nice woody, musky drydown.

Others I sniffed on test strips only:

Midnight Poison - a strong, medicinal patchouli. I got no orange or bergamot from this, though I did get the tiniest hint of rose. I'm assuming it develops a bit better on skin, but on card, it's not impressive. I will stick to Poison and Hypnotic Poison.

Kate Moss - bland and utterly unmemorable.

L - Gwen Stefani - a fresh aquatic (but not oceanic) floral. It's not bad for a celeb scent, but not my cuppa.

Eh, you say? A strong medicinal patchouli without citrus, but with rose? Sounds divine!
    Please, spritz responsibly.

More like a tiny hint of rose. I'm quite sensitive to patchouli though - that's all I got from Black Orchid as well. I didn't really like Midnight Poison but I've not tried it on my skin. But there's nothing about the scent that would make me want to!

Covet- I tried it the other day. It reminded me of so many other fragrances I've already tried in the past. A very forgetable watery, green floral. Reminded me of Fleur de Diva and Eau d'Ete by Kenzo. So boring it could have put me to sleep. No, it actually did put me to sleep. The upside was that it has great lasting power. Could still smell it on the back of my hand in the morning. I will be bowled over if tons of people end up making this one their signature.
Scent is such a lovely, simple pleasure!

They had no tester for the Daisy in debenhams.
The L was a walk away quickly for me. Infact a YUCK!!!!!!!!!
Boss Femme which an sa insisted on spraying a card for me. Not pleasing.

Prada Infusion d'Iris finally hit our stores and got a sample and a card. Very soft makes me think of a softer version of Dior Homme, must be the iris. Strangely getting no neroli or orangeblossom.

Tried Covet a few weeks ago and it was soft and easy to wear.

Lots of new releases; nothing jumps out at me yet.
[I'm waiting for the Guerlain Double Vanille, L'Artisan Iris Pallida, and Quand vient La Pluie]

Donna, I had to get ride of that L card last night, it was stinking out my desk. Urgh.
