Default KISS Him - This is some pretty interesting stuff!

OK people don't jump on me all at once here, but for those who have sniffed this one, isn't it a little bold compared to what is on the Macy's shelves today? I found it interesting enough to buy a small bottle for $18 today. I have never been a KISS fan and it looks pretty silly next to my Fou d'Absinthe and Chevalier d'Orsay, but you know what, marketing and stigma aside; this is an interesting masculine release. Thumbs up KISS for not releasing a bland ozonic fresh one that settles to fake cedar. Too bad so many will miss trying it just because of the name.

Now I feel bad. The lady at Perfumania tried to get me to smell it, and I flat refused. Shame on me.

I've been a KISS fan since their first album. The scent of this cologne is exactly what I would have expected from them. However, it is an EDC and is severely lacking in longevity in my opinion - unfortunate. I haven't tried spraying it on my shirt during a wearing yet though. I've seen it mentioned in some note pyramids that it also has pheromone in it.

Have you checked out KISS Her? It has a similar dirty sexy vibe. It's surprisingly good too.

No Way! This can't be true! Well, I'll find it someplace in Canada, I hope.

Pardon the bad pun, but this sounds like another rock solid recommendation from you, JWS. I pretty much always agree with your suggestions.

Anise, black cumin, cypress, fir balsam...sold.

Absolutely agreed about Kiss Him Jock..

I bought a nearly full bottle from a Basenoter a few months ago and was impressed.

From Bergamot to Sandlewood, a really masculine, great smelling fragrance with an unfortunate (hard to take serious) bloodline. This one bears trying. Most WalMarts sell it also.

What is the 'rum' note in KISS Him like? Is it perceptable?

I'm too old for KISS anything. I see them in character at their ages now and I want laugh, but it's truly too pathetic.
I have these association difficulties that kept me out of some of the better schools and have forced people to change their phone numbers. I tend to ruminate.
    sorry

ZZ - I am not too familiar with Opium Pour Homme, but from what I can remember, they are not similar. I sprayed some on last night before 'night night', and it was still there this morning. The longevity is acceptable. With the pheromone, and cumin; it is kinda interesting for 18$.

Thanks to your "leap of faith", I'll be rubbing elbows with the "common people" at Macy's instead of foraging through the main floor of Neiman Marcus alongside the "nouveau riche"! .

I actually tried this about a year ago. No offense, but I found it to be a cheap ripoff of D&G ph. It smelled pretty nice initially, but then it just fell apart. No gracias.

I though it was interesting...in a good way.
Sort of like Paco's Black XS but less sweet and more animalic, if i recall correctly.

I became interested in this frag after reading reviews that the cumin note was pretty strong. I kind of like a little "skank' in a fragrance. Every time I go to a fragrance counter in a department store, they always ask "Do you like fresh fragrances?" No, in fact I do not. I do not want to smell like a grapefruit, apple, or lemon.

I bought it after a spray on my skin at Perfumania. After the spray, I spent about an hour shopping for clothes. It really smelled like something you would not want to intentionally smell like. I loved the roundness of the cumin, which was right on top. In the middle, I got more traditional oriental wood and spice. The drydown was like sweating bare chested in a new leather jacket. I had to have it.

My premiere of the fragrance was a White Stripes concert. It was a great concert, and every time I've worn it since, I am reminded of the show.

I will never wear it to the office, but it works just right in the dives I visit to hear good music.

This is definitely not for everyone or every occasion, but I have a lot of fun with it.

If you don't like cumin so be it but I associate it more with food. One thing nobody has mentioned, TMK, is the strong violet-like element. Sure enough, on the box it says it contains ionone gamma methyl. This doesn't seem to last that long and you are left with the vanilla/amber/honey, a slight woodiness (definitely with some pine), and the cumin/anise, which are almost like an accord of their own. The basenotes are light, whereas the opening is strong and the balance is very good (eventually). If you don't like simple, super-heavy amber scents (and don't mind the cumin), this is worth a try.

For anybody who is not afraid of cumin, this is a great blind buy. It costs next to nothing and will almost certainly disappear soon. Personally, I think it's excellent.

I agree. Great spicy fragrance that can be had for around the same price as a coffee at Starbuck's.

Interesting, I always avoided this on account of the terrible reviews on Amazon , one reviewer said it smells like "billy goat urine" another said "I might spray some on the garden to keep the cats away." Lol

I've been contemplating this one for a while. The local Gordman's usually has a few bottles on their shelf. The tester for this always seems to be missing even though they attach their testers to the shelves with retractable cord lines. i might just have to blind buy based on this review. Thanks.
I don't have a signature fragrance. My signature changes a little bit every day, why shouldn't my fragrance?
