Very good choice ! I use to wear ( among a lot of others- I think I have a private perfumery at home ) Eau des Iles, Parfum d' Habit, Eau pour Jeune Homme and Garrigue ( This last one remembers me GIT by Creed ). Some times I mix on body EdI and PH, as per sugestion from the very nice employee of Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier Boutique at Rue de Grenelle in Paris.

I popped for Guerlain's new Oud Sensuel today. Notes are: neroli, cardamom, oud, iris, geranium, tonka bean, Virginia cedar. It's an oil, and very rich and concentrated, but stays close to the skin until you generate a little body heat, and then it broadcasts like gangbusters.

Received Mont Blanc Individuel last week........... The mix of florals is superb and the raspberry note is quite evident. Pure class..........Love it.........

The bottle is appealing as well.......... A thick wedge of glass, topped with a gleaming solid metal cap prominantly bearing the MB symbol.................

    A sound investment.

I wore BA out and about on Saturday night and actually had four different people come up to me in the bar and say "OH MY GOD YOU SMELL SO GOOD etc" and one of them i didn't even know. it actually started to freak me out a little bit and make me feel self-conscious about maybe having overapplied

Yesterday. I bought Lagerfeld Classic. Haven't had this one in my collection for a long while.

Today I went into a shop looking (in vain) for Caron Alpona; since they didn't have it, I assuaged my chagrin by coming out with a 50 ml. EdP of Farnésiana. Really fresh and bright.

    It has

    Top notes: Cassie, Mimosa, Bergamot
Heart notes: Jasmine, Lily of the Valley, Violet, Lilac
Base notes: Cassie, Opoponax, Vanilla, Sandalwood, Musk, Heliotrope

Have lately been interested in mimosa/cassie-type scents. I have recently been given Mimosa pour Moi from L'Artisan Parfumeur, and decided to buy Calèche Fleurs de Méditérranée. Both of these feature mimosa. Farnésiana mingles it with cassie (acacia flower, a related plant). Both are very green florals and seem to me to be very uplifting. The sensual aspect of perfumes is somewhat offset by the spiritual in the case of these notes, IMO.

Hey, JaimeB, have you tried Creed's Abuapine Acacia? I think you would like it. Loads of acacia in that one and it opens with a verbena note but turns into an acacia scent soon after. I got mine from a seller on Ebay for $40 and I noticed today that she has more!!!

The other day I was at Nordstrom and the new, relaunched Givenchys (some of them) came in. I smelled a few and was impressed by the chypre one, Givenchy III.

    Notes:
    Top note : Mandarin, Bergamot
Middle note : Lily of the Valley, Rose, Jasmine, Hyacinth
Base note : Patchouli, Amber, Oakmoss, Sandalwood

Very nice, I would say a fresh chypre; classic, but not overpowering. I love chypres, so I popped for it.

They did not yet have the three men's relaunches: Monsieur Givenchy, Xeryus Rouge, and Eau de Vétyver. I have had the first two for a long time, but have never heard of and cannot find any reference to the EdV. Has anyone ever heard of it? I am, of course, extremely curious to smell it as soon as it comes in. They say it should be soon, but not soon enough for me...

Hi Ayala - LOL yes "poor" me! I know it's so hard to get. It differs in the same way that L'Heure Bleue EdT and extrait differs. The latter has basically the same scent, but it's more - hmmm - intense, more "buzzing", in some way warmer. You know this feeling that it's so intense that you feel like sneezing - you know what I mean? In fact, I think that the EdT has more of that "cold" and "rainy" feeling that Apres L'Ondee was meant to evoke - I'd say that the EdT was ½ hour after the rain shower and the extrait was 1 hour after when the sun has warmed the whole garden up - if you follow me?

Oh yes, I enjoy Spiritueuse Double Vanille indeed, it's so goddamn yummi!

At the new Barneys in San Francisco, in two days, I managed to acquire Frédéric Malle Vétiver Extraordinaire and Musc Ravageur, Yosh Kismet (pre-release), and CdG Guerrilla 1.

Also, online, I managed to snag a 50 ml. of Montale Chypré Vanillé. Am waiting for my local Norsdtrom to get in Givenchy Vétyver so I can snag that, too.

Then, I think, I'd better give my bank account a little rest...

Yesterday I bought Givenchy Vetyver and Guerlain's Vetiver Extreme. I'm very happy to have these great purchases.

Last week I got a bottle of Versailles Pour Homme from a great Basenotes member.

Earlier in the month I also bought Le Dandy, Carven Vetyver, Vettiveru, and Delon's Samourai 47 (why not, just for fun).

I think it was August that I decided to buy Carven's Ma Griffe because I found it in edp and reasonably priced.
That girl, that bottle, that mattress and me.

Yesterday, on line, Gucci Rush and Voile de Ambre Yves Rocher. How's that for an odd duo?

I finally got a decant of Kelly Caleche by Hermes - it's been haunting me...you know how it is guys. Just knowing that there was a Jean Claude Ellena scent out there in the marketplace, that I didn't have in my wardrobe was making me a little nutty.

I thought I'd give it some good full wearing test runs from a decant, before I invest in a FB.

Bit of a shopping spree for Yours Truly today:
12 by Jean Couturier (for a gift), Worth pour Homme (an old favorite from the Eighties), Méchant Loup by L'Artisan Parfumeur (can't wait!) and Ungaro II (again, can't wait!).

Thumbs up Re: Today I bought (September 2007)

Today i bought Creed Virgin Island Water 4 oz.
Perhaps my 2nd most expensive purchase.
The first was ofcourse - Patou pour homme

It will be atleast a week before i can lay my hands on my VIW. The fact that i have bought it blind makes the wait so exciting.
