    Default Reissue Wish List

What single scent would you have resurrected from the tombs of fragrance history (in its original form, of course - no reformulations)?

There are a lot I've read about but with my limited knowledge I have to stick with one of the greats I've actually had the chance to smell. Fair warning: This list may get depressing.

I vote for Dunhill '34 - so glad I got a bottle of this just before it apparently vanished completely. Rosy leather chypre-y composition is amazing and quietly long-lasting, particularly as an EDC. I cherish this one more than any other I own right now.

Dunhill's BLEND 30, without a doubt! This was a great fragrance! Also, I am curious about Countess Mara's COPPER (very Madison Ave in the 50s) and "Sportsman" cologne that was advertised so heavily in the New Yorker in the 50s. Oh and Schiaparelli's "Snuff"--all scents that the man in the gray flannel suit might have worn. Finally, Floris used to make a scent called "New Mown Hay" that was one of Cary Grant's favorites, along with Acqua di Parma and GIT.

Kouros has been reformulated? Really?? I did not know that. I remember it smelling very much the same as it does now. Wow...

I would love to see Cacharel Pour L'Homme come back. Why was it discontinued? WHY?!?!?!?!

Virtually all my whishes have been listed. Leaving only Royal English Leather (1780), which those sansculottes at Creed wantonly reformulated in 1805! Improvement they say, progress, they say, can you believe it! Not long and they'll give propertyless men the vote!

I dont wanna misquote anyone so I wont mention a name. (actually its cause I cant for the life of me remember who it was!)

Someone on Basenotes told me it has been reformulated. I don't really care though cause what is in my bottle is perfection. There really is no other perfume that comes close.

I believe I prefer the new Dunhill (03) to the old one, but they are quite similar to me.

My reissue vote goes to Creed Feuille Verte. A limited edition of 100 bottles obviously was not enough of this masterpiece!

I also wish they'd reissue Abercrombie Woods. I don't think it gets the respect it deserves, and people are willing to pay upwards of $150 (on average!) for a bottle on ebay, so bring it back, put it in a fancy bottle, and reissue it, Abercrombie!
    Lately I've been wearing:

    Patou pour Homme, of course.

Carlo Corinto Vetyver, the original formula. The most interesting vetiver fragrance I've ever sampled - can't find a bottle anywhere. Can not even find the new Vetiver from Carlo Corinto either. They have simply retired from the vetiver business, I guess.

I would add Monsieur F by Ferragamo:

    Top Notes
Lavender, Bergamot, Basil, Lemon, Green notes,

    Middle Notes
Sage, Rose, Jasmin, Bay, Sandalwood, Peppermint, Neroli, Cedarwood, Patchouli ,

    Base Notes
Vanilla, Moss, Musk, Labdanum, Tonka Bean,

I vaguely remember this and now that I see the notes, I wish I had tried it. It had a great bottle, I remember....

Roberto and I agree on the Signor Vivara. Beautiful dry down (somewhat similar to the dry down of Versace L'homme IMO). Would also love to be able to smell "Armada" by Tuvache. It was around in the late '60s for about 10 mins. As I remember, it smelled wonderful.
