One that immediately comes to mind: Elixir des Merveilles by Hermes. Followed closely by: Ambre Narguile by Hermes. Hermes (JC Ellena) does good gourmand.

    Others not mentioned:

    Borneo 1834 by Serge Lutens
Bois de Paradis by Parfums Delrae

Rochas Man (Although at first I find it insufferable, true. "Wait for the drydown," I have to remind myself each time.)

Café Noir by Ava Luxe (Dark and sexy, with just enough tonka to "ground" the frag, but not so much as to give Yours Truly a migraine.)

Had never thought of Jaïpur Homme as a gourmand until another poster mentioned it earlier in this thread. But now I can see it, even with the overpowering heliotrope aside . . . JH does have a certain "cinnamon confection" air about it, you betcha.

Shalimar Light? Another one that I myself would never have thought of as a gourmand. But again, I now "get" the whole "light, lemony mousse" kind of connection. Gourmand per se or not, this is one helluva "happy" frag. Petula Clark might well don this one before slipping into a Mary Quant mini-skirt and hopping around to the strains of "Downtown."

I cannot see Must de Cartier as a gourmand, sorry. (Not unless your idea of food involves munching on anise seeds coated with sweet musk glands.)

Finally, who can forget the butchest of the lemon pie family of frags? Yup, it's gotta be Versace Versus Uomo, that most lamented of discontinued Versaces.

Oh, add Profumum Acqua Viva.. it starts out lemony and gets an incredibly smooth, warm note in the dry down. Yum.

Funny you mention Coney Island, jrd4t - it's just so not gourmand on me. I get lots and lots of zingy salty lime at the beginning, but it becomes a woody marine after that. I certainly don't get the caramel/chocolate notes that were promised. It's still one of my most worn fragrances since I bought it though.

Best gourmand - Angel without a doubt, but in the extrait. I managed to bag some of this from Selfridges and it is SO much better than the EDP. If you get the chance, go sample some - it's amazing.

Cafe Noir is great - I have some of that. And Love's True Bluish Light is another favourite, though it's satisfyingly musky.

Hypnotic Poison is another favourite. On me it is quite dry and woody, yet sweet enough to be comforting. I love this one in winter.

SL Miel de Bois works well on me too. Some people get cat pee - I get gloriously honeyed woods. It's a little sweet for summer though. I prefer this one on cooler days.

Does Musc Ravageur count as well? It's kind of foody on me. And it's another of my faves.

Lolita Lempicka au masculin, hands down. I love others, like Rochas Man, Givenchy Pi, & I think Musc Ravageur has an edible quality to it as well.

    Word up!!

I'll also second the incredible Ambre Narguile, and add Yohji Homme, Keiko Mecheri Loukhoum, and L'Artisan's brilliant L'Eau de Navagateur.

Not my most favorite genre. A year ago I couldn't have imagined liking foody fragrance, but there is some yummy stuff out there, like:

    SL Arabie (candied fruit)
    Borneo 1834 (cocoa)
Douice Amère & mat very male (anise, licorice, Sambuca)
    B*Men (dessert)
    Jaipur (Indian dessert)
    Profumum Chocolat
Musc Ravageur (your lover rolled in cinnamon)

and the sleeper among gourmands: Lezard Identité

Serge Lutens Rahat Lakhoum...if the fragrance industy gave out awards for the most realistic recreation of the aroma of the Turkish Delight delicacy, this would surely take the cake ! *pun intended*

Animale Animale for men. This scent seems to blend gourmand notes against contrasting patcholi and wood notes well.

I think it's unwearable. Turkish Delight is nougaht, not cake.

I can wear very few gourmands (and orientals in general) but Serge Lutens Borneo 1834 is eminently wearable and an exceptional fragrance in all respects.

Is it really not for the skin? I am thinking about this one as my next SL
How do you feel when you wear Rahat.
The wax sample is so addictive. I want to bite somebody when I smell Rahat Loukum

I'm wearing Avon's Tomorrow for the first time in months. I had forgotten how the cocoa in this gives the frag an edible quality.

I sampled this today - please try if you're interested in the Parfumerie Generale line and you like gourmands: Aomassai.

Caramel, burnt toffee, rich and toasty wood notes...I came this close to licking my arms where I applied this.

    Ava Luxe - Indian Summer
Parfumerie Generale - Un Crime Exotique

Nothing else I've come across comes close.

I second this, however, Aomassai was a little bit too sweet for me. I love smelling it but I think I prefer to smell it on a woman much like Etro's - Heliotrope.
