Very funny thread, I've been a big fan since it's release, but a little leery about wearing it around a bunch of straight guys now. Maybe I'll just save it for evenings with my girlfriend

EH? Rose 31 is totally masculine in my opinion; I can't see a woman wearing this.

After reading all about it, it should not be very difficult not to assume that Rose 31 isn't good sh*t.......Phew...

A generous basenoter is going to send me a sample of this soon and if i like it i am going to be part of the next Rose 31 bulk purchase group.

It's one of my signature frags now. I really like it. But the animalic/ambergris note can be a bit intense during the drydown. I love it for the first few hours, but there's that distinct "animals breath" note which can be a little too niticeable later on, particularly on my shirt. It doesn't seem to smell that way on my skin. But for now, I'm really enjoying Rose 31.

You've described exactly one of the reasons why I love R31.

I tend to avoid prominent ambergris drydowns (can you say CREED?) but some scents (Rose 31, Eau de Merveilles) handle ambergris quite magically.
