Wink Dark Humor: What Fragrance Should I wear to my Funeral?

Inspired by a post by desmoface, I thought to myself, what would I like to smell of as I lay there in my casket? Passage d'Enfer or Eau Illuminee?

BAHAHAHAH!!! yeah, blame me..Hey, the way I see it we all will attend at least one funeral in our lifetime, right?? You know, depending on what gets recommended, I may be ordering some more samples. This post inspired me to listen to some Elliott Smith hehe.

    Very interesting thought....

Not sure what mine would be. Boucheron PH, Tiffany for Men, Chanel PMC. Obviously would need to have some lasting power.......

Not sure yet, but it will have to be a very long lasting scent since I'd be at the purgatory first, and for how long nobody knows, then I would want to still smell nice when I get to Heaven.

Millésime Impérial by Creed definitely, the only one that fits the bill.

Anybody knows at what temperature they burn the corpse to ashes? I think that settles the perfume question. But I have a mini bag of oudh chips. In case somebody wants my kidneys, or something, the hospital can use that to fill the cavity.

This would fit the bill...nothing like dark roses and earth for a funeral.

"...The group walked around Aswan. The markets were full of spices, and Ellena smelled lotus roots; when macerated in water, the root produces a smell halfway between peony and hyacinth. He also found some jasmin sambac, which is full of indoles, molecules that smell overwhelmingly animalic. Feces are rich with indoles, he explained to Gautier and Dubrule, and so are decomposing bodies. It’s feminine, the smell of death. Calvin Klein’s Eternity is a heavily indolic perfume—the name must have been ironic, he joked. But indoles were not their story, either...."

Interestingly enough, in Muslim culture the dead body always is washed by close family members, and then attar are applied to the body and garb that the body is wrapped in before it is placed into the grave.

I would of course like the primal oudh or attar mithi, which is made from some process that involves dirt.

I want someone to break a bottle of Jicky and pour it all over me. That way everyone at my funeral will always remember me.

OMG...one scent that immediately came to mind is IQUITOS!!!

It's perfect! It already smells like a bouquet of flowers in a funeral home that's about one day past its prime. Decaying roses...gothic and dark, and yet beautiful and inspiring too, which gives rise to the hope that you're going to a better place rather than rotting in the dirt!

Cool Re: Dark Humor: What Fragrance Should I wear to my Funeral?

Quorum or Insense Ultramarine---As an act of compassion for the mourners.-- No matter how much they loved me, they'll be glad to close the coffin, fast!

Havana--- If I'm dumb enough to return to Cuba, and wind up in front of the firing squad.

Erolfa---------for a Viking funeral. Light the torch!

Idole de Lubin----------If they can rustle up a pirate ship instead.

Sandalwood (Any of several high grade)---If I'm going to reincarnate as a bodhisattva.

Jaipur Homme----If I'm going to heaven.

Muscs Kublai Khan---If it's Muslim paradise, and the babes are waiting.

Himalaya ---If I'm going to be canonized.

    Salvador Dali PH----If I'm going to the other place . . .

    Cheers,
