Default Need alternative to Bulgari PH.......

I really like the drydown of Bulgari PH, but there is some synethic-chemical smell when I first put it on that really is cloying.

Is there anyting like it without that synethic-chemical smell?

Have heard good things about Chevignon; someone told me that it's spicy in the same vein as Bulgari PH. Dunno -- have yet to sample Chevignon. Paul Sebastian reminds me vaguely of Bulgari PH in a way (yes, I hear the laughter in the peanut gallery, so hush up). Seriously, many of the same spices. PS is always so reviled, probably because it's cheap and abundant. I happen to love it in cold weather; Paul and I have been through two bottles over the last three years alone.

Would love to hear some feedback on Chevignon, though, to see if the opinion I overheard was even remotely accurate.

I like Bulgari PH very much, but have longevity issues with it. Have yet to try the Extreme version, although I saw it recently at a local Marshalls.

Peggy: "Yes, but he hit his head on a lawn gnome."

    Michael Edwards suggests these:

You like the white musk and moss base.
You need something in the same family; woody-floral-musk.

Herrera for men is an interesting one.

    Hope this helps!

I find Lanvin L'Homme a very good alternative to Bulgari PH.

I'll second that. And whatever is creating a problem for you in the drydown likely won't me there in the Lanvin, which is an excellent subtle floral, as opposed to tea/musk.

Give Comptoir Sud Pacifique's Ecume de The a try. Soft white musk, citrus and tea, very nicely blended, and with good longevity.

Passage d'Enfer is not really similar to Bvlgari PH but it's in the same category IMO. It's a light scent with notes of incense, musk, and florals. I think it's inoffensive and could be worn in a work environment. Right now, it's my favorite of the L'artisan line.

The tobacco notes in Bvlgari ph are quite comparable to Creed's Tabarome (new) imho

In my humble disagreeance to previous posts, I find CDG Vetiveru to be a near carbon copy of Bvlgari PH. Also, Paul Smith Story is another "green" alternative that you may enjoy.

In addition to my previous post:
Trussardi Light Him and Borsalino Chapeau are quite similar to Bvlgari PH.
