    Iris Bleu Gris
    Knize Forest (GIT + pine.)
Fou d'Absinthe (Cool/warm fougere, no fruit.)
Amouage Reflection, though it's awfully pricey.

I think you will love Rive Gauche Pour Homme - please try it. Very masculine.

You may have read some very good things about Rive Gauche. It led me to purchase it blindly a couple years ago. Now I'm happy its out of my wardrobe. Frankly its probably what John Travolta wore in Saturday Night Fever..no wait, its what his boss at the paint store wore.

Rive Gauche homme is great; just be sure that you like patchouli.

Gendarme by Gendarme fits your requirements (fresh, clean, no fruits).

Rive Gauche pour Homme is a great fragrance, which I highly recommend, but I certainly wouldn't characterize it as "out of the shower fresh". It is very masculine though, and it has a well documented reputation for garnering compliments.

Agreed - try Rive Gauche. I've worn mine say 10 times. Twice I didn't like it - one was while traveling when tired, the other it was too hot out. The other eight times it was fairly fantastic, and out of two of those I received compliments. It's a winner. Like most unique scents, there may be a time or two when it bugs you, but it's a good one.

I wouldn't consider Rive Gauche Pour Homme an "out of the shower" fresh either. The patchouli gives it a certain 'dirtyness.' However, it doesn't have any fruity notes. And it is more spicy than sweet. Although I wouldn't consider it fresh or clean, some people say RG references shaving foam which implies a clean shaven interrpretation of freshness. I can see that.

    You could try Lanvin L'Homme

Its creator, Alberto Morillas compares the scent to an elegant white shirt: "Fresh and clean when you put it on in the morning, comfortable all day, masculine"
"Wow, I've never smelled anything like that before."

Well since you wear an Armani fragrance... i'm assuming you'll wear a Kenneth Cole fragrance. A few very fresh scents I can remember off the top of my head which I've had great reactions from and I don't know if you're going for just scent quality or just exclusiveness. But on the board it seems as if it is a must to suggest fragrances one has to actually put effort into finding.. I'm lazy as hell here for you: Kenneth Cole Black, Echo by Davidoff ( Echo, well at least to me is very fresh, but then again I grew up in Southern California and I like the smell Echo has. Reminds me of the city which I miss dearly.) Givenchy Blue Lable ( I see you have 212 men onf of my favorites as well and if you like the grapefruit peep Givenchy Blue Lable.) Also 212 h20 resembles 212 Men but 212 Men is WAY Muskier in my opinion. Polo Blue is also fresh.. But is a very very bland fresh. Polo Black by Ralph Lauren is fresh too. But IMO While Kenneth Cole Black will remind you of other fresh scents it has something about it that makes it more sophisticated. YSL is also fresh. YSL L'Homme is great and Bvlgari Extreme is horrible to me. But a lot of people love it. I personally believe it resembles the sillage, longevity and elegance of drug stores rubbing alcohol.... Aspen is minty fresh, with pineneedles and it is dirt cheap. Now this an absolute shot in the dark but Claibourne Sport is very fresh with lavender and a base of amber. Very refreshing.

Monsieur Rochas -- about as dry and soapy and fresh as they come. There's also Barbier des Isles by Comptoir Sud Pacifique. Gucci pour Homme (the original) was very dry and soapy, but it's expensive as hell and hard to find. I'm also apeshit about That Man by Revlon and Boss Spirit, both of which might fit the bill nicely. I have yet to try the much talked about Geir.

Do a search on "soapy" and see what comes up. I think that many of those frags already discussed in past threads might fill your needs very well.

Also try Creed's Royal Ceylan .. I didn't like it a whole lot from my small sample, but after spending time with a decant I am hooked. There's something salty/dirty and herbal in this, yet at the same time its refreshing and light. Its like a more refined Erolfa, if thats your thing. Its kind of expensive though.

Kouros smells "out of the shower fresh" for several hours at 1-3 meter radius. Other people around are wondering and asking who has taken a shower.
Sometimes at very close distance Kouros smells also dirty, incense or christmas (clove & cinnamon), but not to other people around the wearer. I always get lots of compliments when wearing Kouros.

Well damn, is there really citrus in HP Blue? I don't get any at all but that doesn't mean there isn't any in there. I get clean, crisp cotton. I'd like to know what the notes are now because I'm curious. Definitely would disqualify it from this thread if that's the case.

Here are the notes: Lemon, Mandarin, Blackberry, Pepper, Angelica, Cardamom, Juniper, Sandalwood, Cedarwood, Ambergris.

The angelica and juniper predominate after the first minutes. It always reminds me of gin and tonic, but compare some of the notes to the flavorings listed on gin bottles and you'll see why...

Hesperidic notes are generally considered "fresh," so I don't see why that would disqualify HP Blue from this thread; but hey, whatever you say, man!

Thanks for the info though; its funny how I can't detect either.

Funny, but I think of "fruity" as referring to stuff that smells like fruit pulp; most of the real hesperidic notes are from fruit rinds or other parts of fruit trees (bark, leaves, flowers, etc.) To my mind, the latter are really fresh, and not at all fruity-sweet (although neroli, lime blossoms, etc. can be flowery-sweet).
