    Default Kilian

Kilian samples at Perfume Court. Sounds like some potential good ones.
I ordered a set. I'll report back next week.

No, he just decided he needed full bottles of all of them, and now can't afford internet.

I think he mistook them for Hennessy and drank em.

I guess that's the beauty of having senior moments. Sometimes it can last for 3 years. Sorry for not getting back.

Well, to add to this since it's here: I tried By Kilian's Arabian Nights collection: Pure Oud and Rose Oud. If you don't already have a plain oud such as Original Aoud by Montale, then Pure Oud is something you need to try. I don't feel it's worth the price but it is a very good, safe beginners oud and the longevity is outstanding! I put some on the back of my hand and even after several times washing my hands and showering, I smell it very faintly.

Rose Oud is just weird. It's a very fruity rose verging on the artificial flavor/scent of bubblegum or fruity shampoo and the oud sits in the background and doesn't come out until very late (several hours) into the wearing. Again, I don't feel it's worth the premium when there are so many better rose/oud combinations out there for half the price.

So far I've tried every By Kilian that Luckyscent offers as samples and the only one I feel is original and good enough to be bottle-worthy is Back to Black. I just wish it were stronger and longer lasting and that would make me pull the trigger.

I think it's cool this thread got resurrected. So far I've tried Straight to Heaven and Back to Black (I like them both but not quite FBW).
This week I just received more By Kilian samples from TPC:-

    Pure Oud
    A Taste of Heaven
    Cruel Intentions
    Beyond Love
    Prelude to Love

Will be giving each of them a go over the next 2 weeks.

Since 2.5 years have passed I guess I should make some comments. First let me say that all Kilian's ( regular line - not Arabian Nights series) are bottle worthy for the right person. There isn't one I dislike. There are some I like more than others.

A Taste of Heaven - Classic lavender vanilla with quality ingredients - very classy - I own a bottle

Straight to Heaven - Best take on a rosewood theme - smells like classical guitars made of rosewood - I own a bottle

Liaisons Dangereuses - Wonderful rosey, jammy, fruity thing that's simply addictive to my nose - I need to buy a bottle

Back to Black - A honey cherry pipe tobacco deal with the juxtapostion of a powdery thing - thanks to chamomille. Tobacco and powdery don't even belong in the same sentence together. Another must own Calice Becker frag. I own a bottle

The love series is very nice but didn't float my boat enough for a bottle purchase.
    Beyond Love
    Love
    Prelude to Love

Arabian Nights - Pure Oud - Major disappointment for me. Very synthetic oud to me. I'll take Oud Lacquer by Soivohle any day.

Arabian Nights - Rose Oud - Tasty little morsel. Only it smells just like Liaisons Dangereuses with a itsy bitsy drop of oud. It has that same rosey, jammy fruity thing going on which I do happen to enjoy. I just can't figure why any one would pay $170.00 more than the already steep asking price of $225.00 for the regular Kilian's. Just get some real oud and put a dab on a wrist and a couple sprays of Liaisons Dangereuses and I think you'll have something more enjoyable. At least you might get a whiff of oud. You won't with Rose Oud.

So far this Arabian Nights thing hasn't lived up to the price increase to $395.00 for 50ml. I'm the kind of a guy who doesn't mind spending $350.00 for 12ml of Homage or Tribute because they're so damn goooooood! Kilian really needs to do better job of setting these apart from the regular line. So far he hasn't done that with the first two offerings.
