Found this interview with Roja Dove (from Harrods Haute Parfumerie) on CNN discussing celebrity fragrances, he came across as a lot less pompous than I imagined and made some good points.

That was interesting, thanks for posting. I can kind of understand the lack of complexity he describes in celebrity perfumes: something geared towards widespread - as opposed to niche market - popularity is going to put great importance on not offending people, and there for simple scents would be a safer bet in general.
