    Default Gendarme 20

Do you think I will get a "fresher" product if I spend $30 extra and place my order on the Gendarme website ($79) as opposed to, shall we say, something like fragrancenet.com ($49 w/ coupon) ?

Or does it simply not make any difference?

    Well, my opinion.......

20 only came out in 2004 so at the worst it is 3 years old. Not too bad when you consider some frags have been out since the 50's and still going strong. Also, I believe lack of freshness mostly occurs in the top notes, which just give way to middle and base anyway. I would save money and buy from an online retailer. Just what I'd do and my opinion.

Is Gendartme MOJO (1999) any good?

The reason I'm hesitant on purchasing from Fragrancenet.com is because I bought a rancid/old bottle of (1999) Creed Tabarome which I had to return.

Gendarme 20 EDP "for women" is available on AMAZON.com for $42, with free S&H.
Gendarme 20 EDP "for men" is available on AMAZON.com for $60

Is Gendarme 20 EDP "for women" the same as Gendarme 20 EDP "for men" ???

Is the new (2007) Gendarme EDP "for men" the same as (2004) Gendarme 20 "for men" ???

I know the Gendarme website can be self-serving; however, their FAQ kinda confirms my bad experience with "old/expired" product from various online retailers.

The Gendarme website states in their FAQ section:

QUESTION: "Why doesn't the product I bought online at a discount smell the same as what I buy in the store?

ANSWER: "Usually because it's very old and bought from someone who didn't care enough to store it properly. All fragrances should be stored in a cool, dark place."

    Greg,

Sorry, I cannot speak about any Gendarme other than the 20. While it may be cheaper on Fragrancenet, based on your concerns I would then just buy from Gendarme. The money difference can't replace the piece of mind you want.

Totally agree; I'll go for piece of mind everytime at this point.
