Yaaaay! Cool enough ('though it will warm up later) for the divine Ambre Russe.

Off to (literally) watch The World's Most Adorable Grandchild (she's more fun and interesting than ANY TV show/movie)...maybe walk the beach.

tested Ormonde Woman last night and found it to remind me of a soft buttery gingerbread, something very soothing about it. Also George Sand which to my surprise is extremely similar to Mitsouko!!!! If you like Mitsouko, try George Sand. The drydown was very warm and evolved into something with a bit more spice, but still...

This morning Ormonde Woman, but I am longing for Jicky and may well change into that a bit later.

"Like a lobster with a pearl in its claw, the beet held the jasmine firmly without crushing or obscuring it. Beet lifted jasmine, the way a bullnecked partner lifts a ballerina, and the pair came on stage on citron's fluty cue. As if jasmine were a collection of beautiful paintings, beet hung it in the galleries of the nose, insured it against fire or theft, threw a party to celebrate it. Citron mailed the invitations." Paloma Picasso pure parfum.
This smells markedly different from the EDT.
Pronounced sweet, honeyed base. More spiciness. Less green dominance. More sunny fruitiness. Warm and animalic.
Overall, much closer to the classic, old-style, Chypre formula.
I shall layer it with the EDT and have a full experience of Paloma Picasso's intentions.

Despite the fact that we have started on so called "winther time"/ set the clock one hour back I managed to oversleep this morning! :P I woke up by a phonecall from a confused person who wondered why I wasn't at work yet...(but it was still half an hour to go before I was too late) Glad he called though, because I was in a HURRY! Grabbed a decant of a scent(that turned out to be Feminite du Bois )and ran! Now as my sote I'm wearing Nu edp.I need incence!

Comme des Garcons CDG 3. Thank you, C.!

After the initial blast of braised mushrooms -- not the kind to be bought in the stores, only those that grow wildly in Northern Europe and you actually have to go to the woods to pick them up -- and spices (garlic, dill, blackcurrant leaves, cloves, black pepper, old wooden barrel) it settles in the most delightful creamy light wood and incense imaginalbe. Will be looking for a full bottle!

I'm going to call today a testing spree - because I can't find something I want to wear...

Started with Andy Tauer's Reverie au Jardin. Liked the top and heart. It became very powdery in the heart and stayed that way. May be nice for work, but not for today.

Scrubbed that off and pulled Sage Machado's Turquoise oil from the sample bag. Starts with the yucky grapefruit/black current accord that I hate. Fortunately, it quickly becomes aquatic after 5 minutes. This will work better in the summer.

Scrubbed off the Turquoise - stuck the hand in the sample bag and pulled Serge Lutens Mies de Bois. I put it on fully expecting to despise this scent. It smells like a hospital.
And I find that oddly intriguing. I may actually finish the sample! That's what I get for working in health care. I could probably wear this to work on days I'm spending time in the clinic and blend right in.

Beautiful vintage Chamade for me today!

Now that the weather is cooler it's time to take my porky pomeranian for some lovely long walks! Was going to wear Habanita to celebrate the late fall (the leaves seemed to have turned overnight), but Chamade was calling to me.
