" I wanna have my kicks before the whole s--t house goes up in flames"
Quote from Jim Morrison
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, and sorry I could not travel both and be one traveler, long I stood and looked down one as far as I could to where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair, ...... I shall be telling this with a sigh somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I -- I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference. - Robert Frost
We got with the program here in The States last night so I am celebrating my extra hour's sleep with the besotting Chergui.......sigh!

It’s thought that people who hope too much will just waste their life away and never get down to doing any real work. They’re confusing Hope with Wish, its lazy cousin... When Wish whispers, “Something is just around the corner,” what comes or not is never what was wished for. When Hope whispers “Something is just around the corner,” something always is. -- Charlie Elberson

Opium pour Homme
George Sand by MPG
this reminds me of a little shop on the rue de la Bucherie in the Marais district that sells carpets, jewelry, furniture, clothing and all manner of trinkets from Afghanistan. Something about the woods and spices that linger amongst these objects that makes me think of this perfume. Nice. Warm, woody spice with a touch of sweet, not too much.
Top Note: Lemon, bergamot
Heart Note: Patchouli, rose, amber
Base Note: Musk, Mysore sandalwood

"Like a lobster with a pearl in its claw, the beet held the jasmine firmly without crushing or obscuring it. Beet lifted jasmine, the way a bullnecked partner lifts a ballerina, and the pair came on stage on citron's fluty cue. As if jasmine were a collection of beautiful paintings, beet hung it in the galleries of the nose, insured it against fire or theft, threw a party to celebrate it. Citron mailed the invitations." What I am loving right now: Shalimar vintage extrait, Chanel Bois des Iles, Chanel no. 22, Le Labo Iris 39, Guerlain Iris Ganache

Trying this for a third and perhaps final time. I think I might have to add this to a list of things everybody loves but me...
Today is probably the coolest day temperatures in Miami that we've had all year! I am welcoming it with open arms. Two fall favorites today:
Tea for Two by L'Artisan Parfumeur (from my stowed away sample...I cannot remember who sent me this?) and the last few drops of my Musc Ravageur by Frederic Malle (also from a stowed away sample from the Malle shop in Paris).

Had forgotten how good it is, esp in colder weather, maybe because the slightly foody spices are farther back in the accords. Maybe another spray, come to think of it.

Creed Vetiver (1948)
Love this stuff and can't get enough of it. I do have longevity concerns about it, but it seems like you put it on and it goes away. Then you don't smell it at all until ten hours later you detect this phantom good smell. Like a boomerang.
Herrera for Men by Carolina Herrera as my SotE
Why do I keep forgetting this is one hellova nice scent?

Went and played two softball games in this glorious weather today, sweated a bunch, came home, showered and applied my sample of
CBIHP Black March
really loving it. it makes me think of lots of college weekend days spent planting impatiens at my then boyfriends' office (we did the landscaping on the weekends together). digging in the dirt, the wet leaves that occasionally broke if not handled gingerly, the cool "coming out of winter" air, the earthworms that occasionally multiplied (by a misjudged stab of the handspade), very fresh, vegetative, wet, dirty (in the soil sense)
really is an amazing scent memory for me
Black Aoud I am in rose heaven!
