Default Strong in sandalwood and lavender...

I wonder which fragrance is strong in lavender and sandalwood? Can you recommend me a few names?

Patou Pour Homme Prive, although it is discontinued, so hard to find.
    Highly recommended, however.

Both notes are very noticeable in Aramis Tuscany / Etruscan

To a lesser degree in YSL Jazz.

    Both are great frags.

Caron's Pour Un Homme has a light powdery lavender scent - it may be softened with an ingredient that is vanilla-esque such as heliotrope - I'm not sure. This is practically identical to Caswell-Massey's original Lavender, discontinued many years ago to make way for their "Lavender Signature Scent."

It's a nice warm scent that makes people want to hug you. What could be bad?

Right, this name interests me a lot. I have been looking to buying it blindly. Just curious, since it was made a few decades ago, is it kind of 'an-older-man scent'?

Is it similar to Dunhill Edition at all? I like Montana D'homme, Safari, and some other old scents (see wardrobe), do you think a blind buy will do?

Caron Pour un Homme is not a good scent to buy blind - I found it equally off putting (just a teensy too powdery for me) and at the same time complex (the lavender note is something special). Someone commented here that this is a scent you have to try atleast 10 times before you decide whether you like it or not. So, if you have the patience...

My advice: try before you buy

I second the recommendation of AA Lavande Velours by Guerlain, however it's kind of difficult to find sometimes because Guerlain discontinued it recently.
