Default I'm looking for a woody fragrance

What kind of fragrance would you recommend that has a nice, strong, woody scent? I would like it to have nice longetivity and go easy on the spices. I want to smell like a freakin' tree man. But still delicious.

I was kind of thinking of the wood scent in Givenchy Pi but minus the vanilla. Let me know! Thanks!

Cool Re: I'm looking for a woody fragrance

    Salvador by Salvador Dali

( Not to be confused with the big lipped surreal bottle: Salvador Dali by Salvador Dali--that's another animal altogether )

I promise you that you'll be the most romantic tree in the forest.

It's discontinued, so it won't be easy to find-- but it'll be well worth it.

You want Pi without vanilla? Give the "GIVENCHY POUR HOMME" a try. It has a red bottle and its a woody spicy scent which is nice IMO.

Actually Pi has a lot of benzoin in the base, so not much about woods but more about resins...
For a nice woody frag that might suit you along the mood of Pi (Mild, sweet, smooth, average complexity, decent projection but not a monster sillage) give He Wood, the new DSquared scent, a try. I think you might like it.

    Interesting choices !

Ava-Luxe Palisander is a glorious, rosewoody all-day delight.
    SL's Santal Blanc, too.
    Why not Terre D'Hermes ?
And good ole Pino Silvestre ?

I second Vibert's recommendation for Cypress Musc by Creed - the smell of torn tree limbs. I also second the Palisander by Comme des Garcons, since this is slighly more affordable than the Creed and has a unmistakeable sparkling (yet warm) quality to it.

Sorry, but I disagree with the recommendation for He Wood by DSquared - I got very little wood from HW, and lots of 'ozonic' notes that were majorly annoying to my nose.

L' Homme Sage by Divine - Modern Woody with great longevity and sillage. Get a sample at Luckyscent. I wore this yesterday and was still getting postive comments 14 hours after application. Doesn't get any better than that.

I like "thebeck"'s choice of L' Homme Sage by Divine.. a little story: I wore that this time last week the day before I went on holiday to Tenerife for a week. I had a couple of sprays to my wrist and neck whilst already wrapped up in my Zara Duffle coat... well guess what I wore the same coat today a week on (shitty weather back in England ) and I could STILL smell it... and quite clear too! GREAT scent!!

Also I would suggest YSL's M7 if you find Gucci Pour Homme a little too woody (although you did say you wanted to smell like a sexy tree man!!).
