Default Gucci PH (2003) versus Azzaro Visit

I have been an avid user of Gucci pour homme (2003) for about 2 years now, and have gotten some very positive reactions. I was thinking about getting Azzaro Visit, but its not available locally. Is it worth getting online for 1/2 the price of the Gucci, or should I just save my money for my next G PH when this one runs out?

I own both and like both of them, but if I have to choose one it would be Gucci pour homme due to the weather here. Visit is long lasting, with monstrous sillage, and smells very modern, yet it is thick, which suits the low temperature.
    Current Top 5

    1. Creed Aventus
    2. A*Men Pure Malt
    3. L'instant Extreme
    4. Nasomatto Duro
    5. CDG - Kyoto

Gucci is the better of the 2.

You may want to give Cacheral Nemo a try. It's classier than both.

Another one you may want to seek out is Pal Zileri Sartoriale (Nordstroms has it).

The single review in the Basenotes Directory calls it "Gucci Pour Homme's well dressed cousin" and that about nails it!

The scent grows richer, he knows he must be near
He finds a long passageway lit by chandelier
Each step he takes, the perfumes change
From familiar fragrance to flavours strange
A magnificent chamber meets his eye

Just to be awkward,I would choose Visit

An excellent cedar note throughout, mixed with soft incense. Longevity is very good. At it's best in cold weather,I find.

Quite linear, don't expect much development beyond cedar and incense.

I think it's very impressive and worth trying,at least.

Gucci for sure. The Visit has this weird sour note to it that I just find annoying sometimes. Visit isn't bad but Gucci pour Homme is much better.

I would choose Visit but GPH is still very good. I think I like Rush the best of the three however. Something very smooth about it.
On the topic of cedar & incense frags how does Les Copains Trend stack up? I had a sample a few years ago and it was similar to Rush but something about it reminded me of the feeling you get wearing an old wool sweater...scratchy.

    Visit, by a mile.

Apply it lightly and you'll be blessed with one of the greatest smelling scents in mainstream perfumery.

Another vote here for Visit over GPH. I would prefer Rush over both if it weren't so short lived and quiet on my skin.

Visit is definitly a cool-weather scent. However, I get away with wearing it through the warm months of spring and fall by layering it with Very Sexy II. VSII tones down the sweetness/thickness with some citrus. They work very well together for me.

I'm not sure if this has been covered here: but does everyone know that Gucci Rush has been discontinued, about six months ago, possibly more? I mention this only because those who love it might want to pick it up if they find it anywhere. (I found a 100ml bottle today, sitting on a shelf.) To me it is a lot like Visit, though lacking Visit's power and projection. But still, a very nice scent.

GPH is in my Top 10. I've smelled Visit, but it didn't carry the same appeal,
but it is a respectable scent. I also own Nemo, and while I find it good,
I am also quite surprised that it received 23 thumbs-up and not a single thumbs-down
in the reviews here on basenotes. Nemo is good, but _that_ good????????

    Give me GPH every time.

Given the fact that they discontinue only the best ones, it is THAT GOOD.

Seriously, I adore both Gucci PH and Nemo. Gucci is great as good cognac.
