    Happy Thanksgiving, all.

Wearing Jicky edp with a drop of Un Zest de Rose from Parfums de Rosine on the top of one wrist. The lemon notes are having a conversation and its sort of like wearing a rose corsage on my wrist!
"Like a lobster with a pearl in its claw, the beet held the jasmine firmly without crushing or obscuring it. Beet lifted jasmine, the way a bullnecked partner lifts a ballerina, and the pair came on stage on citron's fluty cue. As if jasmine were a collection of beautiful paintings, beet hung it in the galleries of the nose, insured it against fire or theft, threw a party to celebrate it. Citron mailed the invitations." Jitterbug Perfume by Tom Robbins p. 189

Signoricci is my SOTD; however, it'll be another Nina Ricci favorite (Ricci Club haute concentration) for my SOTE.

    Latrelle: "What?"
Peggy: "Brother Boy has tried to kill himself. He jumped out of his bedroom window."
Latrelle: "Isn't he only on the second floor?"
Peggy: "Yes, but he hit his head on a lawn gnome."

    Happy Bird-Day all y'all!!

Awoke at TEN THIRTY (talk about gratitude) breakfasted on cold calzone (don't knock it 'til you've tried it) and am awash in peonies!! (Thanks to TWolf for siccing me onto both of these lovelies) The delicate AA Pivoine Magnifica that is (I think) anchored in my beloved bergamot, a hint of citrus and iris - and Yves Rocher Pur Désir de Pivoine - slightly dusty-spicy and more powdery.

Peonies are my favoritest flower. They don't grow well - if at all - here in the sunny South, and are available in the shop for only a few weeks a year in early May. I love their melancholy exuberance - serene passion - a sort of wild, timeless abandon. The colors are many and varied and the fragrance(s) almost impossible to capture.
So these guys are my expression and experience of thanksgiving for today (and every day!!) of being - here - now.

Happy birthday to all, and happy Thanksgiving to those celebrating!

Chanel Bois des Iles for me today.
It’s thought that people who hope too much will just waste their life away and never get down to doing any real work. They’re confusing Hope with Wish, its lazy cousin... When Wish whispers, “Something is just around the corner,” what comes or not is never what was wished for. When Hope whispers “Something is just around the corner,” something always is. -- Charlie Elberson
