    Default Iris Silver Mist

Could someone please describe the Iris Silver Mist for me? It seems awfully hard to find a sample of it, the only place I can find is TPC and they charge $6 for 1ml .

Thank you for the review, sounds like a very intriguing scent!

Ascella, it's funny you opened this thread because I find myself in the exact same situation. ISM sounds so extremely intriguing but not many people seem to have it, so it's hard to try this one. Are there some folks who can elaborate on this scent, perhaps?

Cool iris and pencil shavings, graphite included.Very cerebral. The perfect perfume accompaniment for intense focused mental effort.

Dry rooty iris, not the soft floral make-up like variety (although that facet of iris does exist in ISM early in the notes phase for a little while). Lutens wanted ISM to remind one of clean white linen sheets....no journey to Morocco needed for this one.

zz - would u compare it to Iris Padilla by L'Artisan (which I smelled today for the 1st time)?

Sorry mike, I haven't had a chance to smell Iris Padilla yet.

I feel that ISM has a similarity to the Iris Pallida- very pretty.
But it's more affordable, and lasts longer on my skin.
ISM makes the Prada smell 'thin' by comparison- if that helps.

[I think we get spoilt ! Nothing wrong with many of these irises- they just don't move me in the same way...]

I posted the same thread on POL, there are more people discussing it:

A couple of very generous people contacted me after posting these two threads, hopefully I will be getting a sample very soon .

From the descriptions I read IP and ISM seem quite different, IP is not charp nor cold on me, but on the other hand if they have similarities then I will probably like ISM.

Thanks for everyone's comments! I'll probably be ordering a sample from TPC. Can't wait to find out what it's like.
