Anyone else have any expreiences with htis?
It sounds Fumerie Turque "esque"
Just a brief review of Toscano a new fragrance from SMN, which I tried several times recently. It is a fairly light tobacco fragrance, with a honey or amber element that I think is the source of its sweetness, and makes it unisex. I was looking for a pipe tobacco note, but that's not what we get here. What we get is a fresh blond natural tobacco leaf which has recently been picked On the tobacco fragrance spectrum, it's pretty much the opposite of Acqua di Cuba, which is a slightly musty leather and tobacco accord, where you get a pretty strong whiff of a well-aged Cohiba in all its glory. I think that, while Toscano might be just a bit too sweet and a bit too light for me, I imagine that there are a lot of BNs out there who would really go for this. It was mentioned in the current Mens' Vogue where it was erroneously described as having recently been discontinued by SMN; actually, it's just come out!
Thanks,
Joe

Is the honey like Mechant Loup by L'Artisan?
I have tried this and to my nose it is (and I hate to compare like this, but in this case, I must...) almost identical to Bulgari Black - just with a much less prominent rubber note. Stays close to the skin, decent longevity for a SMN. (though they use the word Colonia - Ive always felt their lasting power to be better than a lot of the EDPs in my wardrobe)
I think its a great release for them - I adore the entire line - esp. Melograno and Fieno. This one is certainly unlike anything else in the line - which is so incredibly diverse as it is (but also incredibly "Italian" in feel, if you know what I mean...")
