Default Dark, woody, spice, aromatic, rich, boozy, deep, wearable

Please help me find this scent! I cannot say that I have found anything to fit the bill yet although from reviews I think perhaps Tauer's L'Air du Desert Marocain may fit??

L'air is a very nice scent but is in no way (to me atleast) boozy, rich, dark, or woody. I would definatley suggest these too you though.

When I saw your thread, SL's Chene immediately came to mind. Although it's not that spicy, I think this may be what you're looking for. There's currently a live thread about this SL creation.

After all those fancy, excellent choices, I'll suggest a nice cheap one: Escada Homme.

Although it's maybe not so woody, it's definitely boozy and rich.

    Cheers, Dave

I have never tried Michael Kors for Men but the notes and reviews make it sound like a perfect match with r2s' description. In fact, it sounds so interesting that I added it to my 'to try' list as well!

I also agree with the recommendations of Ambre Sultan. I don't have anything else quite like it - very unique imo.

YSL Opium PH EdT. Fits your description to a "T" except it replaces boozy with druggy. For a more richer but less spicier trip, go with the EdP.

Michael Kors is definitely boozy, but I find it totally unwearable, unless you like STRONG sweet scents. I think Escada PH is a much better option. Shoulda bought it at Maxx when I had the chance.

I don't know why, but I find Creed's Royal English leather to be rather boozy. Like a citrusy brandy. Maybe it's just that I picture it being worn by a fellow who likes to drink brandy.

AMBRE RUSSE from Parfum d' Empire fits the boozy, spice and aromatic description and BOIS D' OMBRIE from Eau d' Italie is boozy, dark and rich with a little more incense in the drydown. Both of these are very wearable and are top shelf scents.

My favorite for this description is a new fragrance line I found last week (Barney's) from Nasomatto called ABSINTHE. It is very dark, woody with huge deep spice notes, but extremely dry spice. So dry it almost takes the breath away after smelling. Reminds me of a very dry and much stronger version of Romeo Gigli or Palais Jamal but with the dryness of Bois d' Portugal. Wonderful fragrance. A little expensive, but is parfum strength.

Idole is the only fragrance I can think of that brings each and every one of those adjectives clearly to mind.

Beet lifted jasmine, the way a bullnecked partner lifts a ballerina, and the pair came on stage on citron's fluty cue. The 70's classic Azzaro pour Homme would fit your description, except for the "boozy". Actually I don't know what you mean by that. Can you give me an example of something boozy? Different drinks smell differently to me.

I fourth the recommendations for Idole de Lubin and also suggest Balenciaga Portos and Creed Bois de Portugal (though it is light in the booze factor).
My current top 10: Richard James; Clive Christian No. 1 for Men; L'Artisan Voleur de Roses; Creed Aventus, Erolfa, Santal Imperial, Virgin Island Water, and Windsor; Serge Lutens Chergui and Gris Clair
