Default MEN ONLY! How do You Count Your Wardrobe?

    MEN ONLY PLEASE!
(same poll for women is in the ladies' section -
    I suspect there's a difference by gender)

Some of you have a dazzling number of fragrances in your Basenotes wardrobes. This begs the question of how do you count them?

Do you include things like samples, decants, miniatures (i.e. 5ml Lutens bottles sold by the perfume house vs decants) and large official complimentary samples (like Montale 20ml format or Lutens 15ml formats) or do you just include "proper" bottles, 30ml and up?

For the "standard size" option, that's usually 30ml and up, but often Pure Parfum and Extrait de Parfum sizes are much smaller, 8ml 10ml etc, and those should count as "Standard Sizes".

In terms of gender difference, my guess is that men will tend to only count the bottles, whereas women will tend to include non official sizes like decants. So let's see!

I only count 30 ML., and up. Speaking of which, I wish all perfume maker's would offer a 30 ML bottle.Perhap's I would pay a little more, but that would be fine with me.Example if MPG even offered 50ML. bottle sizes, I would have at least 5 more of their fragrance's in my wardrobe. Which is why I buy 8ML,or10ML decants.I end up even paying more, this route, but because I have a long time love affair with fragrance's it's all worth it!

I no longer buy full sized bottles of anything--I've never gone through a whole bottle of anything even when I had only 1 or 2 scents in the old days.

I count decants and up. I look at it like this -- because i have so (too?) many bottles, a decant lasts me forever! I have 5ml decants i bought years ago that are still more than half full.

I count from 10-ml bottle since I have so many, and so this small size would last for, at least, 5 years. However, most of my bottles are 100-ml ones.

When Caron's Poivre parfum extrait costs as much as it does, yes, I do count 5ml and up decants. My mix is about 40:60 decants:full-fledged bottles.

"Normal" bottles in the wardrobe, everything else from 10ml decants to 1ml samples goes into the "pending" section. It's the only way I can keep track of all this stuff.

While my wardrobe is completely out of date, if I ever get around to updating it, I will only include retail bottles and 30ml (or greater) decants.

Only full-size for me too...which sometimes is tiny if its a pure parfum/extrait.

I have the 10ml set of Different Company scents, but I don't count them (not even sure why...they seem more like samples to me).

Other than curiousity, I am not sure why there have been so many discussions of what should or should not be (is or is not) included in one's wardrobe. Although my list includes 95% bottles, my inclusion of decants or minis allows others to see what I have for an opinion request or a swap or trade request. When decant sales and swaps were allowed here, and many still think they are, listing these was the source of many dozens of excellent swaps and sales for me and many others here.

I spray a lot, so Decants and samples don't last long to justify a place in my wardrobe...

Samples and up. Makes it MUCH easier to keep track of what scents I actually have.

If I was only counting full retail bottles, my wardrobe would be about half of what it is now. As such, my 'drobe will be substantially less in the next few months as the samples and decants are depleted.

Bottles only. If I counted samples I'd have about 400 scents in my wardrobe, instead of thirty-something. Perhaps I have too many samples...

Bottles and decants over an ounce or so. I think I have one that's less but am unsure of the size, I count it anyways.

I don't count the small sample decants I usually get free from SA's, mostly because I don't wear 99% of them,

Only 1 oz. and up bottles for me in my wardrobe collection. As far as I'm concerned, not enough companies produce the 1 oz. bottles - I prefer them but I have only about 7 or 8 of them. I would buy a lot more fragrances if they came in the smaller 1 oz packages.

If I listed samples, I'd have almost 2,000.

Only official bottles that are above average decant bottle size. So, anything 15ml or above (and is an official bottle) counts - a good example would be those 15ml SL bottles. But then again, I always ensure that I own at least 50ml of anything in my wardrobe...

I only have, and only, therefore count, bottles that are 100ml or 125ml, unless the largest bottle made in that fragrance was 75ml. All in all, I now have 965. I quit at 1000. I swear.

While I don't have a huge wardrobe, I own enough scents, and wear them lightly enough, that I go through bottles very slowly. So I'm happy to have the smallest available bottles -- if I can track down 1-ounce bottle, or a half ounce (like the DSH purse sprays), that's great, and it seems silly not to count them as part of my wardrobe when they're exactly what I want to have in it. I happen not to have any bottles smaller than 1 ounce at the moment.

I don't count samples because they're typically just about gone by the time I've made up my mind about them.

I don't enjoy having decants, really -- none at present or in my future plans. The packaging means a lot less to me than the juice inside, but it's still part of the pleasure of owning and using this stuff.
