Default Pronunciation and translation of Invasion Barbare

Hi. I convinced my parents to get this for me for Christmas(the $225 version, not the $600). I don't want to look like an idiot if someone asks me what it is so could you help me with translation and pronunciation? Thanks.

Barbarian Invasion, which may or may not have something to do with the excellent French-Canadian film of the same name.

    Who makes it?

Like derek says, it means "barbarian invasion" and the closest way I can think to transliterate the pronunciation is:

    ah(n)-vah-zyo(n) barr-barr

The n's in brackets mean pronounce the vowel of the syllable as if there were an n at the end of it, but don't actually pronounce the n. The a's in Barbares should he hard a's like when you imitate sheep going ba-a a.

    Cool link! What pronunciation debate?

By the way - on that ATT website, "Alain" pronounces it *wrong*! He emphasizes the first syllable of Barbare, when you should emphasize the second. "Juliette" pronouces is properly!

    It has

The owner of Parfums MDCI told me that at the time they were thinking of proper names for the five MDCI fragrances, he was watching television and saw a Canadian actor referring to the movie. And so he was inspired to rename SB1, as the fragrance was called before (The creator was Stéphanie Bakouche).

On POL we were discussing the ongoing "how do you say...". The World Fragrance Foundation's website includes phoenetic spellings of most fragrances.
