Default Anyone know of anything similar to Vanille Noire du Mexique...

but isn't as ambery? I love VNdM at first, but the drydown always gives me a headache, and the spiciness disappears. I love Dior Addict. I like the other La Maison du Vanille scents, but I'm looking for a more sultry vanilla. Something that smells like Aztec Chocolate...

I read somewhere that Un Bois Vanille by Lutens was inspired by some sort of Mexican beverage...I recently sampled it, bought it, and am anxiously awaiting it's arrival!!! It may satisfy your current craving, as it is not spicy or ambery...it is what it claims to be: wood and vanilla! Comes off very comforting, rich and warm. Certainly worth a try IMO. I also follow your commentaries, and have tried many new 'winning' fragrances because of your opinions. Maybe this is my chance to repay you for leading me toward so many lovely scents! I hope you'll give Un Bois Vanille a try. Good luck!

If you have a Sephora near you, you might investigate the line of Laurence Dumont gourmand fragrances.
I believe they have one called Vanille Chocolate, as well as many other vanilla frags. I love my Vanille Violette made by them.

Mexican Cocoa by Pacifica, perhaps? Pacifica just started producing eaux de toilette earlier this year.

Peggy: "Brother Boy has tried to kill himself. He jumped out of his bedroom window."
Latrelle: "Isn't he only on the second floor?"
Peggy: "Yes, but he hit his head on a lawn gnome."
