If you ask one of the famous noses about their favorite fragrances or what fragranes they regard as classics, they will come up with the same old tired and oft mentioned listings of No. 5, Tabac Blond, Eau Sauvage, Cool Water, etc. with no mention of any niche fragrances. Its like niche fragrances are something to be ashamed of, or that these perfumers are completely oblivious to their existence.

The other day I was reading an interview with Michael Edwards and upon being asked about his favorite fragrances he rattled off a list which would make a hardcore Basenoter yawn. Sometimes I really do wonder why not many perfumers list some of the more popular and famous niche fragrances as their favorites. Its not as if no advances have been made in perfume artistry since the days of no.5 and Eau Sauvage!

Well, it IS about the famous ones - ordinary fame, not basenotes fame I guess

I think we should contribute to http://uncyclopedia.org

That's where the real knowledge resides.

Even though L'Artisan is technically niche, I think Tea for Two should be added. What do you think?
