Worry wart here: Lievje, please be okay. We are so concerned for your baby boy.
Finally getting to dimples' gifts of Guerlain: Attrape Coeur left wrist, Guet Apens right wrist. Gonna do a bunch of cooking, hope the Guerlain experience doesn't get lost in chopping onions.
Coming down with a cold - staying in bed reading zany mystery by Janet Evanovich - ice and snow outside - wrapped in quilts and Jardins de Bagatelle

For me on this cold and slushy day: Musc Maori. Perfect.
Dear chayaruchama, I love it, but it's quitte the opposite of the Ambre Fettiche I wore (and bought) yesterday. http://community.basenotes.net/showthread.php?t=203196
While the Amber one is opulent, sweet and warm, the Mirre is almost meditative and simple. It's a clear mirre note, a bit spicey and a liiiiiiiitle bit of vanilla in the backround, but almost undetectable. Also I detect a little bit of Eau du Fiers smokeyness in the background, but I could be wrong, maybe it's just the mirre. It's very easy to wear and almost light. I guess they did this on purpose cause the 3 scents are also suitable to mix with eachother. In short, the Myrrhe Ardente seems to be the lightest. The Ambre the fullest and the Ensence somewhere in between, but astonishing too.
Hugs,
Eric

Hello Everyone,
The nor'easter is upon us here.... warming up with Shalimar.
Hope you feel better, Dee Olive.
Gee, Chergui does sound like a great idea today.![]()
Finally, got out from under my big deadline yesterday. Now I can relax and smell nice.
The Insolence body lotion after my bath last night is still lingering. Wow, sillage and projection on this one is amazing. Even my poochies, whom I hugged yesterday smells of it.
Let's see if the smell lingers after I go out and shovel all this snow! we had 25cm!!

Yum! Is this the same scent that has been described as challenging, or was it another one? Because I think it's easy to love, and even my husband likes it on me.
It's a nice scent for staying in but not being bored. Here's to snow! I hope we get the predicted thunderstorm, since I've never heard thunder in the snow before.
Today I'm wearing Royal Bain de Caron, so cozy!![]()
Amor Amor Cacharel.
My scent of the evening is Shalimar edp and I am loving it. Am I suddenly submitting to Guerlain after years of resistance? Perhaps my older skin is becoming more receptive.
I have been to work - wearing a sample of SL Chypre Rouge. Nice![]()

Welcome to "Old-er is Better"!! :bounce: (For many many things!!!) I have found that "up here" lots of over-the-top (Not that Guerlain in general or Shalimar in particular necessarily qualify) or "big" scents that send the younger ones off screaming are tamed by our maturity! (Or is it diminished estrogen???)
No matter. I know MY bod and MY nose nicely accommodate such beauties as Bal a Versailles, Rumba, Insolence (and her sister Champs Elysees) and some Creeds....Volupte and Amarige. A coupla gardenias. You'll LUV it!!
Case in point: Missoni for the evening. These berries and fruits with a hint of chocolate are DE TROP for some - yumsters for moi!!!

Chaya,
Aki (meaning "autumn") is gentle and cuddly. Not particularly new in concept -- citrus, herbs, sweet dry, not foody vanilla, amber, patchouli, vetiver, soft woods -- and a muted, powdery drydown without the stale, musky aftertaste. There might be some "salty" notes in Aki, I believe. It does not produce much of a throw, stays close to the wearer's skin. Less sweet and lighter than Anne Pliska, does not have the gourmand aspect of IPdF Ambra de Nepal, however, sweeter than than Marc Jacobs Amber Splash, warmer and more intriguing than L'Artisan's Ambre Extreme, and lacks the chocolate and "darkness" of Hermes Ambre Narguile. Amber in Aki is well blended with other -- rooty, barky (is it a word?), herbal and almost fruity -- elements, and it is pure loveliness.
I am not familiar with the one you have mentioned, but I can tell you one thing: Aki is not a relative to Ambre Sultan despite amber, and is diametrically opposite of becker.eshaya Golden Amber despite its amber again.
Seems like I have been on the amber kick this Fall-Winter. MPG Ambre Precieux and, believe it or not, Mauboussin are in the lead.

Taoloady, I wonder if this explains why I can now appreciate Shalimar - from Mr Guerlain in the review section;
'In recent years, the bergamot top note has been made more dominating than in earlier formulations, giving the fragrance a less balsamic, more 'perfumey' initial impression'
