Recital again for me today. It's the convenient choice.
Didn't chime in yesterday so I just wanted to say hugs to DeeOlive and to Lievje - I hope your son continues to improve Happy belated birthday to markc!
I'm wearing Cinema Festival d'Ete today - nice summery scent which opposes the gloomy, rainy day (and we are supposed to be in a drought!)
Have a great day everyone.
Recital again for me today. It's the convenient choice.

My goodness, it is getting cold out there. Time for Floris of London's EAU DE SANTAL EXTREME! (And a spray of Encens et Lavande under the shirt, perhaps?)

Also- what voice type are you ?
[I'm a mezzo]
You must be my son's music twin !
Yesterday, he was in a 3-hour concert at high school- he's in 2 choirs- this one was Early Music a cappella.

Enough, already !
I'm impaired and unimpressed- total migraine again- kill those whoremoans, dammit.

Started the day with Blu by Bulgari, then switched to Madness by Chopard at 7pm...
Smoothing on some Rice Dry Oil by Fresh...(it came in a gift pack last year with a little Sake edp)
Will probably add some Tabac Blond. Just in the mood for that.
"Like a lobster with a pearl in its claw, the beet held the jasmine firmly without crushing or obscuring it. Beet lifted jasmine, the way a bullnecked partner lifts a ballerina, and the pair came on stage on citron's fluty cue. As if jasmine were a collection of beautiful paintings, beet hung it in the galleries of the nose, insured it against fire or theft, threw a party to celebrate it. Citron mailed the invitations." What I am loving right now: Shalimar vintage extrait, Chanel Bois des Iles, Chanel no. 22, Le Labo Iris 39, Guerlain Iris Ganache
Derby (Guerlain) from a sample.
Today is Wild Hunt, again.
This week I've only worn Maharadja and Wild Hunt - very strange!
Either I'm settling down or it's love.

Had good nights sleep and am wearing something new (to me) Sira des Indes...very interesting
The fragrance of flowers spreads only in the direction of the wind. But the goodness of a person spreads in all directions.
Have been doing a bit of hibernating (haven't even read today's thread, but want to post and wave at everyone!)... I'm in Nereides Imperial Opoponax, with a little Vivienne Westwood Boudoir Sin Garden on one pulse point just to test.
It’s thought that people who hope too much will just waste their life away and never get down to doing any real work. They’re confusing Hope with Wish, its lazy cousin... When Wish whispers, “Something is just around the corner,” what comes or not is never what was wished for. When Hope whispers “Something is just around the corner,” something always is. -- Charlie Elberson
My sale thread has some of my underappreciated fragrances looking for a good, new home...
A few weeks back I read on another forum that Basenotes is a very uptight and hard-to- get-into-the-circle community and I disagreed then. Our yesterday's thread is another proof of this, doncha think?
First half an hour at work yesterday I spent on the phone answering all them questions about last minute shopping: Why don't you have THIS in stock? How come the manager did not order enough of THAT? And you should see the lines at the post office.... Will be off today and tomorrow because I will be working Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, I suppose, have not seen the schedule yet. Oh well, it is not the first time...
Wearing Montale Golden Aoud from a kind Basenoter's sample. Will make tvlampboy's fish bake for dinner.
Tabarome Millesime for the first time in ages...adore this invigorating elixir. The notes list tobacco leaves, green tea and ginger but I get a strong impression of tonka and some lavender as well. Comes roaring out of the spritzer in a blast of bright citrusy freshnes and settles into a lightly cozy sort of patchouli and sandalwood. One Creed that really works for/on me.
(Was warmly embraced the SECOND I showed up here - hope the poor disgruntled person gives it another shot.)

Hermèssence Ambre Narguilé.
Sniff and let sniff.
TWolf - I'm curious to hear what you think of Montale Golden Aoud. I haven't seen any information on it anywhere except Perfume Court and I have not been able to find a list of notes.
Wearing Ayala Moriel Black Licorice today. Black Jelly Beans! Yum!!!!!

Are there rose notes in it, like most of his other ouds?
I love his Blue Amber, it's so soft and warm and sweet.
Today I am in Etro Sandalo.

Basenotes in fact has got to be one of the most
comforting and supportive online communities
I've ever ran across. I consider myself very lucky
to be a part of it! Thank you all for making it such
a warm place .

I like this site too and I'm a Basenotes virgin. Have been using the frag reviews for ages but never got round to posting in the forums.
Anyhoo - it's Penhaligons English Fern for me today.
Something I haven't worn in quite a while - Kingdom by Alexander McQueen
Uptight and unwelcoming!? Wow, I've never seen that here. It's been nothing but warm, friendly and open since I joined almost a year ago. I also find members very comforting and caring.
Sadly, I think that statement says more about the person who wrote it, than about this board.
Really enjoying Montale's INTENSE TIARE this morning!
