Sounds very delicious! I haven't been that interested in other LL scents, but this one I might actually pick up...

Thanks a lot for the heads up! I'll check it out when I'm in Paris this coming Wednesday.

Great - and please report back on your overall impression of it. Sounds like it doesn't really smell like a vanilla prominent scent.

I'm wearing this today for the first time from a sample (thanks Michael!) and although I'm not ready to give it a full review until I've given it another full wearing, I'd love the hear from those Basenoters who have tried this.

I've worn it a few times now... and in fact brought it with me on my business trip this week.

It's the only vanilla based scent that I feel I can wear successfully. I generally like Le Labo's scents quite a bit! (yes, look at my top 5! ) yet I still feared the Vanille 44 somewhat. Yet, after wearing it a few times now, it's at the top of my list! It's not heavy vanilla - but balanced by the other 43 ingredients! I particularly like the woodiness - and although the description (at The Perfumed Court) indicates incense, I didn't think that was what I smelled at first. I guess there is some there, but the fragrance is expertly blended, it isn't "in your face". In fact the vanilla itself is more muted than say Pi - and I guess I like this Labo for this reason.

I will be going to Paris sometime in the near future, and so I plan on visiting their store, and perhaps getting myself a full bottle! Yes, I know $$$ - but I think this one is worth it!
