It would still be interesting to know what different people would rate as their top 5 faves and why. (or top 3). Has it changed through the years and why?

    Hi everybody!

The search function is one of the most under-utilized features on Basenotes.

Your question comes up quite frequently on the boards here.

Do a search with keywords that interest you - like 'top ten' or 'top 3' or 'best fragrance' - and one thread will lead you to the next and to the one after that and so on.

It is a good way to get introduced to Basenotes and the members here.

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, and sorry I could not travel both and be one traveler, long I stood and looked down one as far as I could to where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair, ...... I shall be telling this with a sigh somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I -- I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference. - Robert Frost

My favorite so far is Pink Sugar. I am sure a lot of people don't like it or worse..but it smells sooo good on me. Nothing but compliments from people when I wear this. I also like Shalimar. The others I have (very few) are still being weighed. I have ordered lots of samples though

okay i can't say greatest I have no idea what that would be...
but I think my faves so far as of recently becoming obsessed

    Oud Damasce by Montale
    Champs Elysees
    Stella
    Shalimar
    Ch #19
    Fracas
Obsession or Opium not sure yet I have to revisit them
    Pink Sugar
    Paris YSL
And can't think of anything yet....
but like they said its personal and also I haven't smelled a lot of things........very new to all of this. But seems i've been leaning heavily toward rose scents which is strange I had no idea I was doing that. I had always thought of Rose as an old lady smell. hmmm. Hope I'm not that old yet. Anyway I digressed. I made this for myself partly so I could try to "focus" on what I need to be searching out as well.
