Talking What would Frank Zappa wear?

I'm sorry but I just can't help myself. What in the world would this guy have worn? Maybe something with a burnt hot dog note?

Cool Re: What would Frank Zappa wear?

    Pure patchouli essential oil.

Pure black tobacco juice, don't you know? The guy wouldn't put his cig down. Occasionally layered with Hot Rats or Uncle Meat, that's for sure. The result's then called Stink Foot.

As a Zappa fan, I agree - Patchoulli laced with a bit of Cannabis oil, and perhaps a ripe tomato.

Had these perfumes been around when the Mothers of Invention and Frank were young he might have worn: Parfumerie General Coze 2 with its jungle spices + strong cannibas sativa oil base OR SL Borneo 1834 with its crystal clear patchouli offset by dark chocolate. For variety I could also see a bottle or two of CdG synthetics - possibly CdG tar, or Cdg Skai, or CdG Garage. But these were before his time.

Zappa who was a musical rebel/genius and a child of the 50's/60's, was well known to be a strong supporter of free enterprise capitalism and he probably wore something acquired on a trip to London - possibly Trumper Lime's for the day and a dose of Creed Vintage Tabarome for his darker moods.

true. FZ didn't smoke & didn't like cannabis, (among many other things) mocked potheads hence all the references to cannabis here are way off the mark imo. he loved his cigarettes though so I guess Vintage Tabarome could please him.

Someone should have done one in honor of Billy the Mountain and called it Ethyl. Something with nice woody base notes and maybe some dirt and/or mineral at the top.

By extension, I think it is also safe to say that he would not have liked any (fuming) incense (stencher) scents, or anything with notes of rancid poncho.

Behemoth cut a slice of pineapple, salted it, peppered it, ate it, and then tossed off a second glass of alcohol so dashingly that everyone applauded.

    Big Zappa fan here.

I have to disagree with the patchouli suggestions. If I remember correctly, Zappa hated hippies and everything associated with them, so I doubt he'd be a patchouli wearer. "We're Only In It For the Money" is practcally his anti-hippie culture treatise.

He hated drugs, booze (and, I've heard, prostitutes) and anything that made one lose control of their own mind and thinking. Many's a Mother who felt the wrath of Frank if they were discovered with any of the above.

I suspect dear old Frank would wear absolutely nothing and would just reek of fags and coffee.

Edit - fags as in British parlance for cigarettes.

I agree with you. However, I could imagine him wearing the burnt hot dog smell, which the OP suggested. Zappa was a genius, but not exactly a Beau Brummell.
