Default SOTD Tuesday 25 December :)

Happy Festivus! (Yes, I'm a Seinfeld fan )

And in celebration of this most festive of occasions, I'm wearing Joy!

(And I do so have a life! I'm just in the mid-afternoon lull between lunch and when the next lot of visitors turn up for afternoon tea )

Good morning everyone and Merry Christmas to all who celebrate!

Wearing Parfum Sacré today. DH is wearing Madini Musk Gazelle.

Opened gifts last night and DH was carried away this year and gave me lots of wonderful gifts - some of the bags said they were from our dogs and cats and one bag of warm Andean wool sweaters and hats purported to be from our goats

Best gift was a strand of blue and white cultured pearls. Lots of silver earrings from Bali set with semiprecious stones, and some silver bracelets.

Am drinking my coffee in the quiet before dawn, waiting for the dogs to come back in from their early morning run, and when the sunrises we are driving to Philadelphia to be with family.

    You all smell lovely!

I pray for there to be peace in the world someday soon and may the joyous scents of Basenoters bring beauty into the lives of all whom they encounter today.

After I had wiped off my coffee from my monitor, I started thinking. Do you realize what you are doing here, R? This is quintessence of our hobby, when the mere words mean way waaaaaaaay more than they mean to anyone else on the planet. Should be shamelessly stolen from you and used widely by anyone remotely interested, IMHO.

Still in L'Or de Torrente since last night, planning to renew it and have a peaceful quiet day here d*****ing, cooking and counting blessings.

    Merry Christmas to all!

A happy Christmas day to everyone who is online today, and don't you all smell divine.

I have a wee bit of work to do on and off throughout the day, but nothing too onerous that I can't relax and enjoy myself.

I chose Chergui to see me through the day, and very great it is too. I hanker after Songes for tonight.

I gave two bottles of perfume as gifts: Creed's Orange Spice, and SL's Fleurs d'Oranger someone who had admired it on me. I don't wear it much now so I don't mind if someone else around me is wearing it.

I'm completely undecided fragrance-wise; perhaps, I'll layer Ava-Luxe Milk w/ one of her ambers, or with an incense.

Love to all of you who keep it all goin' , on this day.

If I were faced wth the choice I'd plump for amber.

Thank you all on BN who take the time to aknowledge those who work over Chritsmas/New Year. If only one's employer would offer the same courtesy. I get paid for what I do, but it is the courtesy I miss. If an individual would simply offer a verbal or written word of appreciation informally, it would make a nice change. Instead, I expect to be greeted post-Christmas with a post mortem of anything that wasn't perfect by those who didn't do anything at all.

C'est la vie! I'm not complaining really, simply observing. I do alright out of it on the whole, otherwise I wouldn't do it. There are others whose work this season will far outweigh my own, and thank goodness they do what they do. There a lots of medical staff on these boards, I notice, and at least one fire-fighter that I know of. I raise my glass of delicious Crozes Hermitage to you all.

    Very interesting woody-rose morning.
Montale Attar, Madini Kamary - two saffron, sandalwood, oud, light rose fragrancs. They smell very close, with the Montalie being more complex and spicy, but the Montale is teriffic for the price.
Black Aoud, Aoud Rose Petals - Both favorites of mine. The Black Aoud is warmer and earthier, the Rose Petals more airy and floral. Montale does rose so well.

You Smelly Folk bring me such pleasure today - it's fun to read everyone's posts and scents, now that I have sampled more widely, I can know just how so many of you smell today in the festivities...

I cooked Christmas breakfast in Ormande Jayne's Woman a warm and snuggly scent, and my Mother presented me with my late Grandmother's mirrored perfume tray for Christmas! So I have been playing with my collection a bit, and have placed all my Rose based full bottles on the tray for a place of honor for a while.

Now going through samples to find rosy ones that may sidle up next to the tray for a bit.

Wearing a sample of Le Labo Labdanum 18, nothing much to do with roses, but it's deeply sexy.

Merry Christmas to all who celebrate, hugs to those who are laboring today...
"Like a lobster with a pearl in its claw, the beet held the jasmine firmly without crushing or obscuring it. Beet lifted jasmine, the way a bullnecked partner lifts a ballerina, and the pair came on stage on citron's fluty cue. As if jasmine were a collection of beautiful paintings, beet hung it in the galleries of the nose, insured it against fire or theft, threw a party to celebrate it. Citron mailed the invitations." Michael by Michael Kors. CHristmas gift from my mom. I had put the book Perfume Legends on my list, and she saw the author Michael something and thought: "Perfume. Michael. Michael Kors purse I want. Michael Kors perfume for Patricia"

we had a good laugh over it.

But I enjoy the frag, which I had never smelt before.
