Peggy: "Brother Boy has tried to kill himself. He jumped out of his bedroom window."
Latrelle: "Isn't he only on the second floor?"
Peggy: "Yes, but he hit his head on a lawn gnome."

Havana / Reserva
I bought Musc Ravageur from the lovely Linnea.
"Wait...is David Bowie really God?" - Penelope Garcia
Santal de Mysore. May prove to be my HG of all.
A tough choice, but my relatively inexpensive purchase of a large Havana Reserva backup bottle from none other than our own tvlampboy has to top my list for wow factor this past year.

"Are you a god?"
"Are you a wizard?"
"Are you a man?"
"Then what are you?"
"I am awake.."
It and Chevalier d'Orsay could be the only frags in my drobe and I would accept that...of course, I would need to find another obsession then.
Rose 31 , thanks to the kindness of a very generous Southerner and fellow Ocicat lover, the inimitable Circa1905.
"We are fast approaching the stage of the ultimate inversion: the stage where the government is free to do anything it pleases, while the citizens may act only by permission; which is the stage of the darkest periods of human history, the stage of rule by brute force." Ayn Rand...

This one is very easy, and it also happens to be the best designer release (IMO) this year:
Narciso Rodriguez for Him.

There isn't one favorite, so I'll just say my two bottles each of Patou pour homme and Versailles pour homme (it was a single purchase ).
II est de forts parfums pour qui toute matière/Est poreuse. On dirait qu'ils pénètrent le verre.
Dan, I'm pleased to have made your 2007--and just under the wire!
For me, an unbreakable tie between Mazzolari Lui (received via swap from Scentronic--you da man) and No. 88. Both are outlook-changing fragrances for me.
Onward to 2008!

There were three,l bought at great savings below reatail: Ambre Sultan, Musc Ravaguer and Noir Epices.
There are a several days left (and I have a few rose scents in transit), but so far it has to be the flacon of Vintage Tabarome that I bought from a fellow Basenoter!
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, and sorry I could not travel both and be one traveler, long I stood and looked down one as far as I could to where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair, ...... I shall be telling this with a sigh somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I -- I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference. - Robert Frost
I'd have to say SL's Rousse.
Swap - Ungaro II
Purchase - Habit Rouge and Ambre Canelle. Thanks Matt for the HR

Does free stuff count? lol. Montale Sandalsliver.
It's a close one, but I discovered Guerlain Vetiver this year and it is my favorite.
Bvlgari Black. My first basenotes inspired purchase, and so far my best.
Tom Ford Extreme by Tom Ford
Armani Code PH. Surely not the best, nor the most original. But safe in about every situation and very-very comforting. Now that's what I need.

Chanel Cuir de Russie
Behemoth cut a slice of pineapple, salted it, peppered it, ate it, and then tossed off a second glass of alcohol so dashingly that everyone applauded.
Tough to narrow it down... Guerlain Spiritueuse Double Vanille.
Ack. I can't leave it at one. I swooned over Flowerbomb this year, too.
