    Question Creed Fleurs de Bulgarie

I've ordered a sample and wondering what to expect. Is Fleurs de Bulgarie sufficiently unisex? How good is the quality of ingredients? Is it a good old fashioned rose? How would it compare to something like Hammam Bouqet?

Bokaba - Fleurs de Bulgarie to me is a real bulgarian rose otto note and ambergris. Quite simple . It's beautiful - yes , a little old fashioned and very velvety /a bit powdery from the ambergris . It's long lasting but quite diffuse . It smells wonderful ,expensive and especially if you love that particular bulgarian rose otto aroma- it is the closest in perfume form I have found to bulgarian rose otto .
Enjoy your sample and let me know how you like it !

One of Creed's finest. A lovely, distinctive rose fragrance. You'll be pleased. Not exactly sure what your notion of unisex is, but if you love fine rose fragrances, then sure, wear it. Only hazard: a small sampling could easily lead to a costly purchase. Proceed cautiously if you're on a budget.

I agree that it's an extremely high quality Bulgarian rose accord, This is a goth, peppery, wet, luscious, metallic, ROSE. I had a bottle and really tried to make it work, but couldn't. I've had more luck with Creed's Tea Rose creation.

There is a certain soapiness that I find cloying in FdB -- I just can't wear it, myself, but somehow I think you will like, especially if you like Hammam Bouquet.

Fleurs de Bulgarie does lean towards the feminine, I must admit.
Bokaba- congrats on the upcoming 2000 posts ! One more to go .......

Nice, green, tart, slightly soapy green rose. It's pleasant, if... a bit staid. It certainly fits your Victorian rose quest.

I tried Fleurs de Bulgarie and would like to share my impressions. I think that for what it is, the rose is quite nice but too red, too velvety, and too bare for me. It is on the feminine side with nothing really tempering the high quality rose otto save the ambergris base that extends the life and adds depth. FdB is in the vein of a Victorian scent with great minimalism with none of the intentional nouveau minimalism--but mere simplicity because it smells great. I think this sample will be nice to have around, but I still prefer Hammam Bouquet as the rose otto is tempered with jasmine and orris while sandalwood, amber, musk, and possibly civet add a masculine and animalic aura.
