    Wow, everyone smells great today!

I'm sharing the house with Tinks (who is wearing one of my absolute favorites!), in Caron Alpona, thanks to Kyra. It's unlike any other Caron I've tried -- I love many of the classic Carons, and I love Alpona, too.

I think you can tell if you try really hard and sniff carefully that it's a Caron, but it's... haunting, in a good, friendly way.

Notes (according to NowSmellThis) include: lemon, grapefruit, bergamot, rose, orange, jasmine, orchid, thyme, patchouli, myrrh, cedar, sandalwood, musk, and oakmoss.
It’s thought that people who hope too much will just waste their life away and never get down to doing any real work. They’re confusing Hope with Wish, its lazy cousin... When Wish whispers, “Something is just around the corner,” what comes or not is never what was wished for. When Hope whispers “Something is just around the corner,” something always is. -- Charlie Elberson

    Parfum d'Habit

Peggy: "Right now, we have to get to the mental institution. Something terrible has happened."
    Latrelle: "What?"
Peggy: "Brother Boy has tried to kill himself. He jumped out of his bedroom window."
Latrelle: "Isn't he only on the second floor?"
Peggy: "Yes, but he hit his head on a lawn gnome."

L'Uomo Trussardi (first time from a decant, thanks Comdiva)

Very strange scent...this was made in the 80's? Very ahead of its time IMO. Not sure if I like it, but its use of clary sage and cinnamon is fascinating.

DH and I have begun exercising together, and after this afternoon's workout, I showered and wore YSL Enchantees for the second time. This time he didn't say anything about "old lady." We'll see what he says next time I wear it.

Just Breathe by CB I Hate Perfume. According to the CBIHP site it has bamboo leaves, Japanese green tea, a variety of cedarwoods, forest (?) and a hint of incense.

This is my first sampling of Just Breathe and so far I like it very well. It is soft and clear and ephemeral , but with sufficient weight to make it something of the earth rather than the sky. I can't stop sniffing my wrist trying to work it out.

Segueing into the evening in yet another wonderful sample from the wonderful Lady in Black - Trussradi Inside....notes include tobacco and bergamot, some pepper laid over teak and cashmere woods and a musk of some kind. I get a hint of vanilla too...more gourmandy than spicy or smoky....

    Verrrrry interesting......

Another Lutensite. Wore Fleurs de Citronnier (xmas gift from DH2B) on my chest, and left my wrists free for sampling while we went shopping today. The left one got Arabie (first impression? yuck) and the right got Santal Blanc (not terribly impressed).

    Attrape Coeur for the eveing.
"Like a lobster with a pearl in its claw, the beet held the jasmine firmly without crushing or obscuring it. Beet lifted jasmine, the way a bullnecked partner lifts a ballerina, and the pair came on stage on citron's fluty cue. As if jasmine were a collection of beautiful paintings, beet hung it in the galleries of the nose, insured it against fire or theft, threw a party to celebrate it. Citron mailed the invitations."
