Default Do you let your 5 yr old wear cologne?

So my two daughters and I are spritzing on different perfumes (theirs are the body splashes in raspberry, freesia, warm vanilla sugar types) and my 5 year old son wants to smell good too.

Background: Taking my husband cologne sampling is like pulling teeth. He smelled Polo Explorer and Canali on paper but I only got samples of Burberry Brit and Dunhill. He likes Burberry Brit. The only other scent we have in the house are Gravity (from when I first met him) , leftover Old Spice (that he never wore) and soon Burberry Brit (which he will wear).

I am just starting out with perfumes so I don't really know what's out there. It's like the blind leading the blind at our house

What is appropriate, if anything, for a little boy?

I think they sell a pirates of the caribean scent at disney land. But, I also think that mugler cologne is one of those fragrances that transends age, and would be appropriate on anyone.

Last year I gave my 9 yr old nephew some Gendarme and He loves it....he said the little girls are always saying he smells good....I think that is pretty funny.

There's a fantastic, good quality, and interestingly simple citrus made by Molinard for children: Une Souris Verte. ("A Green Mouse.") Depending on where you are, you'll very likely need to get this from somewhere online.

In general though, I think the idea of scents made cute for kids--Disney and even the Molinard example I suggest--is too cute for anyone's good. I'd get something simple but anything an adult would wear. Above examples of Gendarme and Mugler's Cologne are excellent ideas. I'd try a range of citruses on my 5 year old nephew, for example, and I couldn't help myself from trying simple vetivers on a kid too.

They make a Harry Potter cologne that, to me, smells like a weaker version of Burberry Weekend. Maybe try looking for the HP cologne...but then if you can't find it, he can wear Weekend & then father & son will both have Burberry frags .

lol....does she also treat cat poo as tootsie roll treats???

Thank you for everyone's suggestions. Now I have something to go by.

When we were little we were allowed to get those tiny 4711 bottles in Germany. Does anybody remember those. I haven't seen any here locally at all. I have some coming in the mail thanks to a bn'er so I can reacquaint myself with the scent. I'll see if my memories are more sentimental based or scent based

If you can find it, Versace's Baby Blue Jeans is meant for kids. Smells pretty good, but doesn't have a hard masculine edge to it.

I just bought my seven year old boy baby blue jeans. Smells good but appropriate.
