    Well Quarry, it seems you did it girl! An inspired idea. I don't think we ever had a longer SotD thread. Just wonderful! And would it not be great when most people would go on posting and sharing?

    Sloan, that was a picture I could have chosen as avatar! Absolutely awesome.

    A few dabs of Shalimar extrait on pulse points and a light mist of Spiritueuse Double Vanille over my hair.
    Enough comfort to help me through this day.

    Today is the first day back at work in the new year.It's a cloudy day with temperatures around zero. Got a bottle of JLO Glow after dark from my sister,so testing this one for work today.So far I think it's a littlebit too synthetic and a bit sharp for my taste,but got it for Christmas,so feel I should give it a try.Never tested the original one,though... Enjoy the day people

    Chaya, congrats! I enjoyed your piece of writing and the story itself. I hope you do plan to repeat your guest writer experience
    I really regret not knowing Neil in person, but we had a brief e-mail exchange last year and his good soul shines through - David is a sweetie, too. You know, sometimes you feel the need to HUG someone.
    I dabbed on some Parfum d'Ida on the back of my hand in your honour (thanks Riannon for passing on the most recent NM samples - just didn't have time to test until now) - wowser, for the time being it's all mystic incense and myrrh on my skin!

    I decided what to wear. My sample of Plus Que Jamais from the lovely Dee.
    This seems to be the year of my finding Guerlains that I love. But WHY do they have to be of the likes of Plus Que Jamais and Attrape Coeur????

    Chaya, what a fantastic story! I already have a hip Jewish mama (we just passed through the duty free on the Canadian border and it turns out that over the years she has owned *many* very nice perfumes) but if I didn't, I'd certainly give you a shot at the part.

    Today I'm wearing Prada EdP. These threads make me realize just how small my palette is.

    Chaya/Ida--You write beautifully and with great warmth, but I started to forget what you were talking about cuz the pix got me all hot and bothered. Woof, Neil!

    Wearing "subterfuge" today ... meaning I put on DH's fave scent, Stella Rose Asbolute, with a touch of Enchantees (he previousy dubbed "old person"). Think I retrain this Pavlov pup?

    Finally back home in Switzerland after a long visit 'home' to Wales for Christmas and New Year. Today wore a gift from my dear husband - Guerlain's Vol de Nuit Evasion - warm rich peaches and vanilla to keep me snug on a very cold day driving through France. Lovely fragrance and a lovely day with hubby and daughter.

    I'm glad I just got a sampler vial of it, I don't think it is for me. I'll save the vial and try one more time in the summer to be sure though.
