Thread: Cardamom please!
Can you recommend me some scent containing a pronounced note of cardamom, that still isn' t too heavy, spicey, pricey, or contains cinnamon??
Should I go for the discontinued Initial by Boucheron (that never reached great popularity), or do you have a better suggestion? ( Which I am SURE you have. )
Everything passes. Everything changes. Just do what you think you should do.

L'artisan's MANDARINE TOUT SIMPLEMENT
This is a fresh take on cardamom, and it is unmistakeable!
You should give Vivienne Westwood Anglomania a try.At first it smelled a lot like cardamom on me...but sadly it developed into something that smelled a LOT like lipstick (!!) on me,but give it a try Another with a cardamom smell to me is Omnia
I love cardamom; it is such a wonderful spice in food (love that Tikka Masala), and a delicious note in fragrance. I would go for the Initial; such a great, yet underrated, fragrance. Heavenly....mmmmmm.....
Quand on boit l'eau, il faut penser à sa source
You can buy some EO of cardamom from Liberty Naturals, White Lotus Aromatics or Eden Botanicals, mix it with a carrier oil or perfumer's alcohol, and layer it with your favorite orientals. It's a top note and disappears after 10 to 20 minutes, but is lovely in rose scents and orientals especially. This is a much cheaper solution than buying many bottles that have cardamom as a note! ;-)
PS: I LOVE cardamom, too! I even sprinkle it in my coffee (the powder, not the EO)
Give Hypnose Homme a try. I noticed the cadamom right away.
Top Notes: Bergamot, Calabrian Mandarin, Chinese Cardamom, Mint
Middle Notes: Lavender
Base Notes: Amber, Patchouli, Musk
I've trademarked the color bleu
I second Anglomania... it has a lot of nutmeg too I think... and pepper...it doesn't agree with me though... I thought I'd love it, but it's very green and quite fresh on me... and gives me a headache... but that's just me, I do think it's a nice scent.
The Different Company's Jasmine de Nuit has lots of yummy cardamom, too, and good lasting power. It's available through beautyhabit, luckyscent, and decants through Perfumed Court (they're having a special on it).
Best of luck!!
It just hit me that Parfum Sacre also has a rather pronounced cardamom note in it
Yes, and in a totally different way than the others mentioned. Caron is always happy to send out a sample or two.
