I've decided to continue last night's combination of Narcisco Rodriques For Her edp with Jo malone's Red Roses. This is a particularly nice combo suggested by Scentemental, whose wife wears it. I wouldn't wear either of these on their own, though I have combined Red Roses with other Jo Malones many times, but this combo is perfect. I'm using the NR from a store sample, I do not own a bottle of it in any form. I was given the NR body lotion for Christmas but I don't like the texture, I find it too sticky.

I'm in another of Sestra's samples - Montale Black Aoud. I wasn't going to wear this today but I'd spritzed on a tiny bit last night (I've never tried a Montale before so I was curious) and I could still smell it this morning. It's quite medicinal at first but that doesn't last - to me this is primarily a heavy rose scent.

After a short break, I've gone back to my mostly-staple for work day wear: Revlon's Fire & Ice. I love the scent, and it's nicely inoffensive without being 'clean' or 'fruity' like most of the fragrances we deem to be of the inoffensive type. It's a sweet oriental - I think. Stays close to the skin, but sticks around all day.

It's also kind on the budget, so I don't feel guilty when I spray it on rather often!

Kyra, leave it to you to turn a perfume spill into a positive experience (and your car smells great!).

Coco, feel better soon, I suggest you don't give up on acupuncture, although maybe try a different practitioner. I've found acupuncture helpful, too.

Dimples, enjoy the Fleurs de Peau! I'm especially interested in what you think of it on drydown.

Today, I'm following kbe's lead of yesterday in Bogart Pour Homme .

Top notes: bergamot, lavender, and water lily
Middle notes: "masculine floral notes" (whatever that is!)
Base notes: patchouli, tonka bean, and vanilla

    Top: Peach, Freesia, Tarragon, Lemon

    Base: Sandalwood, Vanilla, Cedar, Benzoin
Mostly muguet on me and there is something in the y-y/freesia combo I guess that is vageuly lavenderish. The sandalwood is most predominant in the drydown and it last surprisingly well on me. Welcome home, dear Sculpture by Nikos!!

Started the day in FM Musc Ravageur, thanks to the wonderful Quarry!

It seemed like something I smelled before, so I did a side by side with a vintage bottle and noticed a striking similarity between MR and the old Corday (NOT the new version) "Toujours Moi". MR is a bit fruitier, TM a bit woodier, but they have a similar feel. Weird, huh.

SL Cedre I adore this, it's dry, dry florals and wood, somehow still rich. Dark enough for an evening out, reserved enough for work. This is one full bottle I'll never regret, and it's proof that I should always try things that don't appeal to me in description, because you never know how it'll turn out.

The drydown was fabulous, all leather and smoke with a bit of civet. It's also, a bit dry, if that is the right word for it. I found the drydown to be similar to the drydown of Cuir de Russie, but with more smoke and less "cow pattie" (borrowing a phrase from indiscreet). I think that it would be fabulous layered with perhaps a light floral. I think I'll be experimenting a bit.

Personally I love it, and actually, I spent some time this afternoon surfing to see where I can get me bottle...

That was a great little addition to the bunch of samples that you sent to me.
